Colin in 14:04.02
Sahlman's time is now showing 14:03.29
That's a record I don't see getting broken anytime soon, unless NP goes back to Huntsville next year.
It's insane that the only two guys who look capable of breaking the new record go to the same school as the new record holder.

Was the 4.962K national high school record broken? Impressive!

God I love being right. Victory lap time. I knew a superfast course when I saw it, and the details the course designer provided last year clinched it. I think Angelina Perez, who was the top rated girl this year would have had a great shot at sub 16. Perez top speed rating was 163 and she ran Holmdel twice, getting in the low 17s. It would have been a good data point in comparing the times on this course.
This course is a total joke!!!!! Not one of these girls will even break 17:00 at Balboa Park in San Diego next week! The course is a National race disgrace to the sport, and puts these girls in the record books above girls who actually ran real cross country courses. Just like Jenna Hutchins record is a joke. Tuohy is the real record holder! Hutchins would not have even broken 16:30 on the course Tuohy ran. Perez will win next week in San Diego, and is the only one who has a shot at sub 17:00. She ran a real course last week in NY and can handle the hills at Balboa!
Good news for you- there is no “record” for cross country. Your favorite runner is still great. There are track records but not XC records across courses. If some people think otherwise, that’s their problem, and you can’t control it. Just be satisfied knowing that your favorite is still great.
Looks like they've adjusted the times a bit. Colin now shows @ 14:03.09, for example......
Incredible to see so many Colorado kids in the results.
With all of the hype today NP delivered. Stunning performance.
Doshi blew it, he “only” ran 15:00 for NBP.
No more debate who the Goat team is: 14:04, 14:05 14:06,14:15,14:45,14:53 and 15:00.
Just kidding Doshi. Wow 7th runner is 15:00.

That's the trick. Maybe none. But the bigger trick is getting out of high school unscathed. So far that has proven much harder to pull off on the women's side.
Anyway, rest in peace to Ritz's record. Well not really, because in XC you cannot reallt compare times on different courses. But RIP anyway.
For some perspective, the 2nd best time on the MHSAA course behind Ritz’s 14:10 (held there since 1996), is 14:49 by Hough in 2020. This includes a couple national champions as well- Grant Fisher (14:52 at MHSAA) and Tim Moore (15:06). Hobbs ran low-14:50s as well.
Isn’t the Cali state meet course considered a bit faster than MHSAA MIS course?
Lol no. Michigan has the fastest course ever
Also 71 guys in this race under 15, plus 6 in the silver race means that 77 guys all broke 15.
Tbh, I like the way RunningLane did their national champs more than the way NXN and Eastbay/FL do theirs. This way runners who could contend for the win don't get knocked out just because they live in a competitive area.
Well, regardless of the true course length and true meaning of the times, let’s all bow down to NP. The greatest HS team in history dominated as expected. We won’t see anything like this again any time soon….no wait, we will, next year when NP does it again and maybe even better.

Appleford rounding out top 5 in 14:44 and 40th place overall.
All seven under 15 for NP! Hector Martinez 53rd at 14:52.72 and Dev Doshi 66th at 14:59.51. Even if it turns out that the course is short the NP runner's placements against a competitive field has to be acknowledged as a great accomplishment.

Unless the course is wheeled, it ain’t legit.
If you really believe there are 3 kids better than Dathan, then you’ve drunk the Koolaid.

Not really. Because times on different courses are not interchangeable. What this race showed again is that this course is extremely fast and less difficult than other courses. Which is fine. If you put stock in such things a runner whose top SR all year was 160 ran 16:03.
Someone early said it was really flat and super firm like a track...I did NOT see that from watching the video. The the splits read in the broadcast were also very odd...couldn't have been right...which makes me question all of it!
Shout out to Aidan Cox from Northwood, NH. Off the radar screen nationally -- being hurt earlier in the season - and running tougher New England courses, until a dominant win last week at NXR Northeast. Rose to the occasion today to finish 7th.
