Most of the claims that this story is fake are, go figure, coming from anonymous posters, and 1-2 registered users... indicating the guy she met is on this forum and astroturfed the thread in some misguided attempt to cover his tracks.
Seidel has bigger fish to fry in her life on an everyday basis than to fabricate a funny story about a guy on a 3 hour plane ride talking down to her about her job while possibly being oblivious as to who she was.
This ought to stir up the pot again....have at it

Lol but Ali on the Run recap: Molly said the man was definitely "mansplaining" (she used that word specifically). She and Ali weren't giving Molly's seatmate any grace but if he sucked then he sucked and he deserved it. Also, she does read LR (see the time she posted about the thread about her and Coach Jon G. in love but he is married to someone else (that was the essence of her post)). Other than that Ali mentioned she looks on LR "every day" which I find odd just because she strikes me as someone not interested in reading all the negativity on her (aka her one rule for her Facebook group is that you have to "be nice" to join) but I can see for her researching purposes that it is beneficial (aka the Jonathan Gault- penned articles which she specifically mentions). As for Molly, she has a "major crush" on a certain fellow pro marathoner from across the pond who will also be racing NYC.

So They found the guy. People got all wrapped up about nothing. I believed her story from the start. Why would she make this up?

Me thinks the guy knew exactly who she was and maybe he was just trying to be funny and screwing around by pretending to be oblivious.

Uh, the guy they found said he knew who she was and told her that. So either there was a different guy on another plane or she twisted the facts to turn this into a mansplaining story.

Buttttt …buttttt….believe her(TM), even if she’s making stuff up!

The “didn’t have the heart to tell him” part, assuming the story is true as presented, seems rather conceited. She is assuming that she’s so great and famous that not recognizing her would be embarrassing or heartbreaking for him.

Link? As people are alleging with Seidel's story, it looks like you completely made this up.

Pretty sure they're referring to the podcast with the guest Zach Litoff who did sit next to her on a plane. The only problem is that his version of events doesn't really line up with her version and he even says that he's not the guy she's referring to in her tweet. So either there was a separate airplane encounter (around the same time period) or someone's version of events is not totally accurate.
