I had 56.6 for Jakob's last lap.

Solid win by Jakob, but it really showed where he still needs to work. Some very questionable inside passes that he got away with. Despite a very slow pace he really didn't separate from an inferior athlete in Taki who might've beaten him with better tactics.
Kejelcha really fell apart during the last lap. Fast first lap and allowing some costly passes later on must've been too much for him.
Kejelcha pushed hard the first 1000m, Jakob let Mcsweyn go around through 800m. Jakob took charge squeezing by on the inside towards the bell, and passed 1200m around 2:53ish. Big pack surged on the final back stretch, Taki and Fontes closed up on Jakob. Taki made an unusual tactical move, chose to stick on the inside but never had the space open up. Jakob waited until 100 or so to go to accelerate away, got the win in 3:33.92. Taki 3:34.14, McSweyn 3:34.25.
1200m was 2:51.6x
He did a hard 1500 in Brussels å few days ago. He probably wanted the easiest way to victory today. Mcsweyn makes Jakob look like he has a great kick, that says alot
Mo has no chance in the marathon, that's why he's not running it, he could get 5th or 4rth in the 10,000.
Closing a 3:33.9 in 42 feels kind of meh.

I wouldn't say he has no chance in a championship Marathon, unless you mean to win (gotta trust Kipchoge there). If it turns out tactical like most un-paced Marathons, we've seen at Chicago what he can do.
That being said, I'd now find it an upset for him to medal in the 10,000. Yes, it's his comfort zone but there're at least three guys who can run away from him. There's no way he'll be allowed to control the race and get a victory in 27:00-27:20 (if conditions are good) with a big last lap.

He's not going to run the 10k in hopes of getting 5th or even bronze. He's better than Rupp at the marathon and Rupp has a bronze medal.

Yeah, I don't think he was firing on all cylinders today. He got a sleepy start to begin with. It looked like he did just enough to win. Just noting that his lackadaisical inside passes and such are not necessarily going to fly in a major race. Can get away with it here, but savvy racers will protect their space and close the door on him, which could get him into some tricky spots.

His 1500 pace is under 42 per 300. Analyzing his "kick" in these time trial scenarios is a bit silly
Very true, and it's completely unnecessary to do a move like that for someone at the level of Jakob. Weird to see Yomif in such bad shape, whatever he is doing now isn't working well.

Not much of a time trial.

Yeah...not going well. While Hassan has righted the ship, Yomif looked pretty off today. He got out well and looked fine to me, but the last 500 was rough.
Nice to not see so many sheep wearing diapers on their face in this meet.
According to the front page article, Kiplimo got both first and second!
Barega pulled almost dead even with Kiplimo but in the end Kiplimo got the win in a massive pb of 12:48.63, which also was a meet record. We timed his last 1600 in 4:02.0 and his last 200 in 27.3 (last 400 roughly 56.3). Kiplimo ended up second

It's Tokyo in the summer, it's going to be hot 30-35C (> 90F) with high humidity. So I don't think you'll be seeing any fast long-distance races (aside from the marathon, which will be in Hokkaido).

The 13th best Kenyan this season over 5000m is faster than the best from GB.

Fastes this season from GB over 10000m: 30:44. With some luck this guy would not be lapped by Brigid Kosgei. But no chance he would not be lapped by 20 male Kenyans.
