the thing is...this hasn't happened. there is no american 'oligarchy' that runs the nation. Despite generations of american tax policy supposedly favoring the rich.
Most naive post ever.
America is not run by Oligarchs?
It's not a Russia-style organized cabal. But we do have tremendous influence vested in a few unelected billionaire power brokers.
I don't know if you can yet call it an oligarchy, but it's getting close. For instance, if Jeff Bezos wants to talk to the president, the president will take the call. Most house members don't have that kind of power. A senator probably does. So I'd put the power of American oligarchs today at roughly the same as a senator. Except the oligarch never has to worry about getting elected.
There are about 740 billionaires in the US with a total net worth about $4.4 trillion. If the government confiscated ALL of their wealth it could run the US government for about 13 months. Incidentally, the original Build Back America bill, I believe, was going to cost $5 trillion, so all that money would have not even covered that bill.
That says nothing about fair taxation. The super-rich should pay their fair share like the rest of us.

Zuckerberg spent $400 million of his own money to buy the 2020 election.
Bernie Sanders was the nominee in 2016 and 2020 and the non-existent oligarchs vetoed him.

Define "fair". They pay a higher percentage than you and a higher total than you.
At what income level do you think your policy of punishing anyone doing better than you should begin?
You democrats fell for fake news once again. Maybe you’ll get him next time.
Hahahaha!!!
Democrats lose again!!!
They knew it was wrong and did it anyway. The stupid people they're feeding information to do not care if it's true. The entire media has turned into confirmation bias for morons.

I'm not sure what your argument is here.
But wealth equals power. Too much wealth puts too much power in the hands of the unelected few.

eh I just can't get worked up about billionaire political influence. there are no billionaire senators or governors. politics is a terrible job so they stay out. I suspect there used to be far more billionaire types in government than now. Who wants all that garbage? Do bezos or musk really care?
And look at our presidents. Bush1 and 2 are the only aristocrats among them. Clinton was bubba, obama was a total outsider, Trump was elected by the...the...the...let's say lower educated and middle class. Biden never had any money until he left office. Some rich types have attempted to buy offices and mostly failed.
just talking to potus isn't meaningful unless it starts turning into policy.
I've been reading a lot of biographies of US presidents....let me say unequivocally that the past was far, far, far more run by billionaires and corruption than today.
The Tax Policy Center said 107 million households, or 61% of taxpayers, owed no income taxes in 2020. That's up from 76 million, or 44% of taxpayers, in 2019.
Since July 2021, Biden job approval among whites has gone from 50% to 40%. Among Blacks, it has gone from 88% to 56%. Among Hispanics, it’s gone from 56% to 51%. @pollsandvotes points to the decline among Blacks as particularly striking. #mulawpoll
President Joe Biden's support among black Americans has taken a nosedive in a matter of months, according to one new poll from Marquette University Law School.

Biden has literally been selling his office for decades. He's always had money.

No, the super-rich pay a lower percentage than me and you.
Any way you define fair, a super-wealthy person should pay at least as much in total taxes as a poor person. But they pay less.
How can you say that rich people pay less in total taxes than poor people?
In 2019, the top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined. The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid $612 billion in income taxes while the bottom 90 percent paid $461 billion in income taxes.

Well, if it IS, I hope that they AT LEAST marry better than SOME supreme court justices.....
