it's just so sad when Republicans choose to ignore all evidence and fact and decide that Republican presidents are better for the US economy. I mean you might as well believe that sitting on the couch all day makes you a better runner. The evidence is indisputable. Just search 'are democrats or republicans better for the US economy.'
You people are just children believing in Santa and the tooth fairy. Grow the F up.
"In sum, it appears the best way to judge the economy under a given president is to consider its performance relative to the economic trajectory that president inherited. Over the past 44 years, there have been just three notable outliers — Clinton's overachievement, Obama's underachievement, and Trump's overachievement, all relative to their inherited trajectories. ..."
"Obama's first term was an outlier in the other direction. Since 1976, every presidential term that began with an unemployment rate between 7% and 8% ended up seeing the economy add between 6 and 10 million new jobs over the course of those four years. The only exception was Obama's first term, during which just 1 million jobs were added; in fact, the unemployment rate rose slightly, from 7.8% to 8.0%. Even adjusting for the severity of the 2007-2008 recession, this was the weakest economic recovery since the Great Depression, widely missing the jobs and economic-growth benchmarks set by the White House as well as the CBO, Federal Reserve, and blue-chip forecasts. The economy grew at an average annual rate of just 1% over those four years, peaking at 2.6% in 2010."
"Those who highlight the budget deficit falling from $1.4 trillion to $585 billion between 2009 and 2016 overlook the fact that Obama's own stimulus law inflated the 2009 starting point. Additionally, by January 2009, the CBO had already projected that even if the new president were to do nothing, the recession economy would recover and drive the deficit back down to $264 billion by 2012. Instead, Obama signed legislation cumulatively adding $5 trillion in debt over the decade, inflating annual deficits well above the long-term baseline levels that the CBO projected in January 2009 and slowing the deficit reduction that should have come from the economic recovery."

bottom line is that for as long as any of us has been alive, the US economy has done much better under Dem presidents than under Rep presidents.
Sure, some of that is luck. But it's a fact.
Also a fact that states with Republican governors have had much faster economic growth and lower unemployment in the last 10 years but I doubt that influences your vote

its true that local politics is different than national politics.
more complex.
but of course remember that the blue states are the rich states and the red states are the poor states. And the red states are mostly empty land with few people to fill positions.
Mostly anyway. So the red states may be growing faster but much of that is because they are growing off a small base.
Don't you think it's better to look at per capita GDP or something like that?
trump actively worked to damage this country. Trump is STILL actively working to damage this country.
because of him and his rubes, the US is no longer the #1 goal nation of immigrant talent. Kiss goodbye to future teslas, googles, intels and the like unless the rubes are beaten back. Say goodbye to having enough workers, for pete's sake. At least biden is trying to get more immigrants to come here after the trumpist damage.
Alec Stapp @AlecStapp Immigration is America's superpower, so this should be raising alarm bells for policymakers: The United States is no longer the top choice of foreign talent when asked where they would move for work.

dontcha think it would be A LOT more interesting if we had a discussion about points like this? Instead of leaning on a technicality only you care about? Really? Is it worth your time as an adult to come on here and say again and again 'wrong thread?' It's a waste of your time and everyone's time.
Debate. Do that. it's what we're here for. Reply. Discuss.

I think you are being a bit nice when you say "small base". Most of the red states are $hithole states, period. They rank at the bottom half of almost every measure - economic health, healthcare, education, quality of life, you name it. What good is a 10-20% growth when you look around and only see dictator-loving uneducated knuckle draggers?

What thread do I need to use to complain about that horrible white board lady? She is the worst well except for the AOC and the squad, Bernie, Hillary and Elizabeth Warren.

and death. being in a county run by republicans means you are much, much more likely to have died of covid. That tells you a few things about the quality of Republican leaders and philosophies.
Oh hey Republicans. DOJ is looking into your sedition. Just a heads-up.
perfectly clear to everyone that Republicans conspired to stop congress from certifying the election and DOJ will make that clear. Not that 'conservatives' care about sedition. What they care about is Hunter Biden.
Wapo today:
The criminal investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol has expanded to examine the preparations for the rally that preceded the riot, as the Justice Department aims to determine the full extent of any conspiracy to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s election victory, according to people familiar with the matter. In the past two months, a federal grand jury in Washington has issued subpoena requests to some officials in former president Donald Trump’s orbit who assisted in planning, funding and executing the Jan. 6 rally, said the people familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. The development shows the degree to which the Justice Department investigation — which already involves more defendants than any other criminal prosecution in the nation’s history — has moved further beyond the storming of the Capitol to examine events preceding the attack.

Totally forgot about deaths from COVID! And they are proud of it all. And you never know when you might run into a freedumb loving Kyle out there.

All the big cities in the US who are really sh*tholes and who have skyrocketing crime and violent crime rates are run by ... you guessed it! .... Liberals. Liberals can't run anything.
Detroit, MI Memphis, TN Birmingham, AL Baltimore, MD St. Louis, MO Kansas City, MO Cleveland, OH Little Rock, AR Milwaukee, WI Stockton, CA
just to name a few. Always Democratically run (into the ground). Sh*tholes and Libs -- two peas in a pod.
I am so excited about the latest Hunter gossip. Never imagined the right would still be hanging on to this so desperately. This is going to be the stone cold loser trump's whole campaign platform against biden, which worked so well last time. 🤣👋

They say lots of things. Look at what they do and not what they say.
Democrats have enacted many tax increases in the past several decades. That's why they were labeled the party of "tax and spend".
Parties are judged by what they currently advocate, not what you claim they did in the past. And their actions of the past 12 months indicate they want to spend trillions more and not increase taxes.
That's not true at all. Democrats are always talking about taxing the wealthy, especially the super-rich.

Trading on one's father's name to make money, while pathetic, is not illegal.
It's interesting that the last two Republican presidents got where they are because of the wealth and influence of their fathers. Both Trump and W were were really bad at running a business. But they were able to trade on daddy's name to get started and prop themselves up.
The last three Democratic presidents came from modest means and are what most would describe as "self-made" men. In that sense, Biden, Obama, and Clinton adhere to the Republican ideal that you should "make it on your own".
