Fat Hurts claims that Joe Biden is the most brilliant president in history.
And why are you so obsessed with me that you would make up a lie about me to start your post?
A reminder that no one is obligated to engage with posters who are clearly not interested in good faith discussion. It's hard to walk away from someone who is pushing your buttons, but the best available option is to deny them the satisfaction of a response.

At the risk of sounding self-congratulatory, it seems that most/all of the non-Trumpers on this thread are reasonably intelligent/informed/fair folks. But a visitor might very well think that we're kinda pathetic that we have ongoing "conversations" with Trumpers that aren't, of course, really conversations. And go around and around talking to walls. And don't get me wrong, I've had many moments of weakness and replied to the mouth breathers.
But if you asked if I'd prefer that they weren't here, I'd certainly say, "Yes." Which leads to 2 more questions:
1) How many of my fellow non-Trumpers would prefer that the Trumpers go away?
2) And if the Trumpers went away, would the thread continue ?

As a non-Trumper, I would hope that we at least are open enough to hear differing viewpoints.

Oh, and just to help the Trumpers out with self-identification, if you've done either of the following 2 things, odds are 99.99+%:
- Posted a cartoon of Biden looking silly.
- Stated/implied that Biden is DESTROYING (!!!) the country.

Regarding your questions:
1) I would be perfectly happy to have all of the Trumpers go away with the single exception of Hardloper. I disagree with Hardloper on many things but he/she does seem to mostly post in good faith (i.e., is not 100% lies and nonsense).
2) The thread would likely continue without the Trumpers, most likely with more substantive and nuanced debate.

I've never heard of a non-trumper that voted for trump twice

People can sour on a candidate. He served his purpose but I would rather he just leave the stage permanently. If he was to win in 2024 the nation would be even more divided than it already is. I am a DeSantiszeee!
Fat Hurts claims that Joe Biden is the most brilliant president in history. Biden is briefed every day on everything he needs to know about. Why the heck does he need cheat sheets? You think Winston Churchill had note cards in his pockets?
Let me remind you of a couple of inconvenient facts. 1) Biden demolished trump who was holding rallies 24/7, without having to campaign at all. 2) Biden is taking down Putin who had been outmaneuvering every democratically elected leader for the past 22 years. That is brilliant. But but his notes!!!! LOLz

That's not how it works. You did not sour on trump given you voted for him a second time. You have been a tzee to the bone, but are just realizing now that he could never win again. DeathSantis is a lame version of trump (yes that bad) and you're going to be in tears when your former hero wipes the floor with him like he did to little marco and all others. How do you expect that a guy who made his name being pro-trump is going to successful sell himself as a different and better candidate? I'd love to hear about it.
But again, no, you have to carry that heavy cross until the very end. That's your punishment for supporting autocracy.

Let me summarize your well-written and insightful post:
1) Liberals here are extremely intelligent, fair and all of what they post here is well-crafted, well-reasoned and indisputable.
2) Conservatives here are babbling idiots.
Do my fellow intelligent liberals here wish that the idiots go away?
If the idiots DO go away, will any of us intelligent liberals wish to remain?

At least those posts are about BIDEN and are in the correct BIDEN thread. Most of your posts belong in the Trump thread.

The issue isn't persons who voted for Trump per se, it's the pervasive lack of civility. There are persons on the board whose politics I disagree with, but can respect their viewpoints.
I agree with the board moderation statement, "We believe in free expression. We believe in civility. We also believe anonymity can result in more honest and open debate." However anonymity and the hands-off moderation policy also implies a lack off accountability which is exploited by bad actors.

YOu want to talk about civility of lack of? The worst culprits here of name-calling and insults were Liberals like Flagpole and Trollminator and other libs here. Conservatives never responded in kind. Flagpole would use every expletive in the book and Ginamator was even worse but you LIbs never beckoned them to act more civilly. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Let's assume that what you're saying is honest and accurate. You finally decided that Trump was bad for America sometime after you pulled the lever in late 2020. After roughly 5 years of watching the man in action on a daily basis, up to and including his efforts to steal the presidency leading up to election day.
Pardon my rudeness, but you realize how slow-on-the-uptake that makes you look? And how much credibility you'd lose amongst others in the discussion?
But hey, you're in good company, 70-something million strong....unfortunately.

Well, I would say that the lack of civility is fully on both sides (and myself included).
In my/our defense, it can be hard to be civil when the debate isn't "honest." To be civil to people who say that 2+2=5 EVERY day, AND scream about the other side "destroying" math(!!!).

I am not saying Trump himself is bad for America - he would be great for the country or at least his policies would - but having him as president would divide the country because so many Liberals have Trump derangement and would do everything in their power to bring Trump down - more impeachment hearings, more investigations, etc. But Trump as president - even though he is a rotten person - would be infinitely better than what Biden is doing now to destroy the country. Liberals just can't run the country - they destroy it. Biden used to be a fairly moderate person but the radical left has pulled him toooooo far to the left. Ruining the country.
