If he does run, it will be because he is convinced that enough state election boards have been sufficiently corrupted and/or other machinery has been put in place such that he will be "elected" President regardless of the actual voting totals. Otherwise he won't risk another loss.
It would make sense for him not to run but I think he will run. Think about who Trump is.
(1) He has always severely over estimated his own abilities. He will think he would win.
(2) He needs to be the center of attention from the media and from big crowds. He can continue the Trump show by running.
(3) He is driven by revenge, being president will allow him the leverage for this to occur.
(4) It will also protect him from future legal or civil lawsuits.
I don't think Trump will run. Many of his supporters were always kind of wary about his weird relationship with Putin and Russia. When he came out and praised Putin at the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine, he probably finally lost a lot of those supporters. His internal polls will show that and he won't run knowing that his support is down significantly because he finally jumped the shark on Putin/Russia.
Actually he even made additional comments specifically to the Russian people during that speech. Do you need me to show them to you and do you want to look on your own.
Irrelevant. The seed was already there with many Russians. Biden is adding some water to help it grow.
Let's play pretend and we will pretend that Biden was speaking to the Russian people. Biden called Putin a murderous dictator who needs to be removed from power (of course only by the Russian people). Regime change by the Russian people. Why did SOS Blinken 20 minutes after the speech have to come out and walk back the comments and say it was not about regime change. He basically said ignore what Biden just said. Is that not silly? Shouldn't have Blinken have iterated that it was IN FACT about regime change so the Russian people would not have any doubt about what Biden had meant and would be even more motivated remove Putin from office?
I love your agony. Nothing like watching putin and trump loving chuds get triggered by pro-democracy action.
Are you really so clueless that you think voters could remove Putin from office?
Apparently your President thinks so - unless he was calling for another regime change war
Biden did not say or imply that Putin would be ousted at the ballot box. He had just finished giving a speech where he derided Russia for being an autocracy.
Russia is not a democracy. It is an autocracy. You need to learn that and remember it.
In an autocracy, the leader is often ousted by some sort of coup.

Ginamator - this is how effed up you Liberals are and how deranged you are with Trump...
CNN analyst Asha Rangappa managed to blame the aftermath of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during the 94th Annual Academy Awards on former President Trump.

It doesn't matter if he runs. Write this down - Desantis is the 2024 nominee

Oh but the Liberals need a bogeyman. DeSantis is no bogeyman. TRUMP is the bogeyman for Liberals. They have nothing else but to keep bringing up Trump as the ultimate bogeyman. He may not even run but the speeches by the Dem presidential candidates in 2024 will ONLY talk about Trump. Not the person running but only Trump.

this is mostly false...dem politicians have not found a way to explain to the nation the danger of trump. the dems will most likely do what they always do - talk about policy and tax credits and helping people who need it, while the rightists talk about transgenders.
I'd love to be missing something, but I'm surprised that so many are still willing to say that Trump - politically, at least - destroyed the R party. Funny thing to say about a party that pretty much everyone thinks is going to take back at least the House this fall. What a sad country.
2 things at play: 1) much of the right simply believes liberals will end the country. They are full of hate fueled by endless lying and propaganda, and will go along with whatever it takes to own the libs. When Ds are in power, the GQP has the gaslighting advantage hence the pendulum swinging. 2) Ds really really suck at politics. They fumble at every turn. Like the GQP, they are lacking more and more in substance and actionable platforms, and end up relying more on the vote against the other side strategy. They haven't gone the route of Rs yet though with the open lying and criming, which is why they keep getting my vote.
It's a sad and rotten country.
We certainly agree, of course, on the ugly bottom line. And in pre-Trump times, my "I don't really know about nor find the games of politics interesting" mind could certainly imagine that Ds (or anyone else) are objectively bad at the game.
BUT, the utter transparency and magnitude of Trump's badness, it seems to me, lets the Ds off the hook considerably, and gives this country NO FREAKIN' EXCUSE for continuing to support the R party. Blaming some significant part of it on the Ds strikes me as letting the country off the hook. As if the Ds could have SOMEHOW gotten in the way of the country seeing Trump and his party for what they are.
A decent country would have EASILY seen the situation for what it was, and no media or political incompetence could have prevented it. Unfortunately, we don't live in that country.

Perhaps that nation is too selfish and unsophisticated to be persuaded by that? As in, "Threat to democracy? Whatever. I paid a lot for gas this morning...."
That's kinda my vote.....as much as I wish I were wrong.
this happened today. At some point Teflon Don will be indicted. Maybe in the next life, but many irons in the fire, here.
Former President Donald Trump “more likely than not” tried to “corruptly” obstruct the congressional certification of the 2020 election, a federal judge found on Monday. The determination allows the committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol to obtain more than 100 previously guarded communications, in a ruling invoking the crime-fraud exception under a felony statute routinely charged against accused rioters.

Based on the evidence, the Court finds it more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021,” added Carter, a Bill Clinton appointee.

Yes, we have basically been watching Idiocracy play out in america, and the knuckle draggers are desperate for President Camacho to return.

So in your words this is what we are down to. After promising us for years that Trump would be arrested and whisked off to Rikers for multiple crimes you are now saying that Trump MAY face charges but it may be in the next lifetime. Do you realize how crazy you sound????

I literally said there are many irons in the fire. I literally said the opposite of what you are yelling.

Yes. That's what he cleverly implied, but he won't say it out loud.

I'm once again reminded of Afghanistan and other third world countries where we've tried to help them with the "Rule of Law." And people in those countries knowing what Trump did (e.g., "Find me 11K GA votes"). And now hearing that, over 1 year later, we're heartened to simply hear a judge state the blindingly obvious. And Trump is still nowhere near shackles and a prison cell. Or even a court room.
Not sure if those folks are now laughing, or disgusted, or both?
