Dana Hills wins Cif SS D3 finals with 29 pts over West Ranch 108. Evan Noonan and Jayden Hernandez go 1, 2 again with Evan running the fastest time through all divisions at 13:56. Thank is his fourth sub 14:00 3 mile race this year.
Dana Hills also had the fastest team time through all divisions in 1:12:21 with a 14:29 ave. San Clemente ended the day with the second fastest team time in 1:12:34 and 14:31 ave.
cool now let's see how they run on a cross country course next week. from the looks of it the teams haven't improved since woodbridge.
Teams haven’t improved since Woodbridge? Lol
From the looks of it, seeing the race live on YouTube, it seems like Evan has been holding back. As a team, Dana has drastically improved from Woodbridge albeit this race was subpar for them. It’s hard for a team in d3 to be pushed when more overall competition resides in D2 and D3. It will be a good test for Dana to race against Oakdale next week. The only caveat being that they will race later in the day compared to San Clemente, Great Oak in D1 and Ventura D2 who will race in the morning.

Very underrated region, hope they get more appreciation. Props to Southwest today.
Wow, anyone else notice how young the Niwot team is? The Niwot boys top 5 finishers were sophomore, freshman, sophomore, sophomore, junior. They also had sophomore place second in the JV race in a time that would have put him in their top five (15:46). Can't wait to see what this team can do.
Arkansas has never been stronger in nxr south. They had both an individual champion and team auto qualifier, Bentonville. I think people overlooked them earlier because they are from Arkansas.
Leachman runner of the day 16:07 5k on that course! wow

Another reason why Bentonville was overlooked earlier was because they lost to Deer Creek once. Probably just an off race
But their speed ratings at the AR state meet looked promising

I thought speed ratings were full of it when it came to Arkansas. Oh boy was I wrong. It was the loss against deer creek that made me thought that.

I think the California automatic teams will be Dana and San Clemente (obviously) while I think on the girls side, Santiago and JSerra will be ready to take it to Portland. Both teams looked fantastic and I think especially Santiago is ready to take it to Buchanan at the state meet with the 84:00 team time.
Just won their state championship with 54 points. Put 4 in the top 15 and their 5th not far behind. I think Brookline is the top team for the at large bid right now.
The SW region should get 2 at large bids. They are much deeper/faster than last year. Last year Herriman’s average at regionals was 15:40 before they went on to place 3rd at NXN. Yesterday the course was very sloppy/muddy. It was was arguably a slower course due to the conditions yet the team averages were much faster. Niwot in 4th place had a 15:41 team average.
Calvert Hall was missing one of their top guys - Rei Nettey. Nowhere to be found since the Adidas XC challenge when he ran a 15:22.
University is nowhere to be found in the championship race. Some of those guys were running unattached, and the rest were missing
McCallie and Farragut didn’t do as well as expected Farragut #4 guy finished farther behind their top 3 than usual. McCallie’s regular #2 runner didn’t score.

I would say to the majority of the top 10 best teams in the nation are on this list. The other teams to watch out for are CBA, Westfield, CDA, Crater, Belen Jesuit. Where do you guys think those teams will rank on this list
Agree, Southwest could have four teams in the top 10 at NXN. Niwot boys placed 4th and they are the second fastest team in Colorado history based on state meet results. They should absolutely get 4 bids.
