And also, she does inspire a pure distilled loathing from right wingers and I've never quite understood why. And no one has written anything that explains it well to me. Probably something about her yells 'phony' and 'scripted' to them.
She didn't stay at home and baked some cookies. Some men loath women who do not know "their place."
While there are undoubtedly many who think women should "know their place", I do not think that covers nearly everyone who can't stand Clinton.
Speaking only for myself, while suspecting that I am not alone in this opinion, I think it comes about in large part from:
1) As nonequals stated, the sense that she didn't really do much to "earn it" other than marrying Bill. (and yes, I read HRC's Wikipedia page, at agip's urging, and I came away unimpressed with her accomplishments leading up to her Senate bid (outside of being Bill's wife).
2) The abrasive sense of entitlement, arrogance, and victim-hood that she emits.
3) Her chairing the task force on health care reform and the level of arrogance she displayed in running that task force. How exactly was she the right person for this job aside from being Bill's wife? To me, this was basically Jared Kushner going to solve the problems in the Middle East.
4) Her stating that, "It's my turn. I've done my time, and I deserve it (the Presidency)." (WHAT?!?)
5) Her book, "What Happened"- (woe is me - unfair - I deserved it!)
6) The near-constant smug expression on her face - consistent with my perception of her own self image as oh-so-brilliant.
7) Biggest sin in my book - She gave the presidency to Trump by essentially disappearing from the campaign trail for the heart of the 2016 campaign. Trump may well destroy America as we know it. But Hillary gave it away on a silver platter.
///
FWIW - I actually thought she did a pretty good job as Secretary of State (and yes, the Benghazi investigation and controversy was a gigantic nothing burger).
And also, she does inspire a pure distilled loathing from right wingers and I've never quite understood why. And no one has written anything that explains it well to me. Probably something about her yells 'phony' and 'scripted' to them.

Yep - much of it is pure sexism as most americans never followed or read up on her politics anyway.
I'm sure rudy just wants to have a spotlight on him when he throws the middle finger to Liz Cheney...but the optimist in me has him flipping and trying to save himself.
Kim Mangone@KimMangoneBREAKING: The January 6th Cmte announces that Rudy Giuliani will cooperate
I wonder what level of cooperation Rudy will give. And I also wonder what he is getting in return.
If you want to have some more reason for optimism, maybe Rudy is sensing the collapse of the Trump empire and he doesn't want to be under it when it falls.
I wouldn't place much hope on Rudy. He really lost it and I think fully shifted to irrational decision-making and behavior into the trump years. Plus he may have shared one too many skeletons with trump.
Biden and Harris will NOT be running for president in 2024. Biden's mental faculties have been running on empty for a while now and no way he survives another 3 years especially after he is emasculated by the red tsunami coming in the mid-terms. Harris has been a colossal flop as VP. That is even an understatement. She has just been the biggest embarrassment to the administration which is saying a lot because the administration has been an embarrassment. So who are we (Dems) left with? I hate to say it (actually I love to say it) but Hillary seems to be reemerging as a major force in the Democrat party. Many Dems will not like seeing her back in the picture but the Dems have no one else. I hope so much that Hillary is the nominee in 2024.
She had a strong case. The NYT obviously lied. Only question was whether they did so to quantifiably damage her reputation or they're so hopelessly biased they didn't know any better... neither is a good look.

Rudy seems like he has dementia or something. Has anyone ever cratered their reputation so badly? "America's Mayor" could have had a cushy retirement giving speeches at conferences and going on Sunday morning talk shows. Instead he went full nutter and destroyed his public image.
The Rube party admits they are full of sh/t and lie about things left and right.
There never were any government crack pipes but rubemedia convinced millions that there are government crack pipes.
What else is rubemedia lying to you about, gary and sally?

WASHINGTON—Sen. Marsha Blackburn lifted a hold on a stopgap bill needed to avoid a partial government shutdown this weekend after she won a commitment from the Biden administration that it wouldn’t fund pipes for smoking illicit substances through a substance-abuse program. The Tennessee Republican had said she would hold up the bill until the Department of Health and Human Services clarified in writing whether it intended to pay for pipes to smoke illicit substances. The topic became a major issue in conservative circles after the Washington Free Beacon reported that a $30 million harm-reduction grant program operated by an agency within HHS could include money to put pipes in safe-smoking kits, which the report said could include crack pipes. In a letter Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra wrote that “no federal funding will be used directly or through subsequent reimbursement of grantees to put pipes in safe smoking kits.” He had previously issued a similar statement through a press release, but not in a letter to Congress.

Google "safer smoking kits." Everything is dated the last week or so when the public outcry became so great when they learned that crack pipes would be put in the kits. All the liberal media came out the last week to deny that pipes would be included in the kits. The Biden administration got caught with their pants down not realizing the American public would not sit quiet with crack pipes in the smoking kits. Yet no denials were made back in December when the HHS first came out mentioning the safer smoking kits. I included the HHS memo but no denials were made back in December. No, only until the sh*t hit the fan did the liberal media have to do the dirty work in protecting the administration. I also included the safer smoking kits for Canada and Calif. and both those included crack pipes.
Think about it ... a safer smoking kit without a smoking apparatus is not really a safer smoking kit. The crack pipes are not dirty like you would you usually find with meth users. It is like providing safe sex kits without condoms. Just doesn't make sense. Think about it, Agip. This is not rocket science.
More rube media in action. They made up some kind of story about lefties being angry at Adele because she said she is glad to be a woman. they got the whole thing from a Facebook post with 23 likes.
not conservative.
The New York Post found a tweet with 23 likes calling Adele a transphobe (the only other tweet they cited is from a private account) and used that to start a whole news cycle. This is a great example of how conservative media manufactures outrage against the trains community.
*Trump never led in national (Popular vote) polls in 2016 or 2020.
We are a very, very, very long way from 2024. By then, if Trump is not in prison he will definitely be outed as a failure in business.
I don't see how the Trump Organization avoids bankruptcy. They have some huge loan payments due. But they don't have the cash and nobody will lend them money to refinance the debt. Their own accountants just publicly exposed Trump as a fraud. At this point, I don't think even the Russian mob would do business with Trump.
Their only recourse will be to sell everything they've got. How could he run for president when Trump Tower is on the auction block?

One of the things Trump is brilliant at is surviving financially. Dude is a wizard at survival.
I hear you and agree it seems to be pretty bad, but the guy has pulled economic rabbits out of hats so many times that I have to think he'll make it through again. I mean he's shown he can get c.$500 million from the Rubes just by asking. If he really puts his back into it he'll get billions from them. Some lender will realize Trump has tens of millions of supporters and count that as some kind of collateral. One of the world's great salesmen can always get hands on cash.
My not having done a compare-and-contrast with every other politician in history - or even recently - does not mean that I didn't basically answer the question.
I also reserve the right not to care for MULTIPLE politicians. And pretty sure I exercise it.
Also, perhaps she's more notable because it was unique. Yes, we all know the silver-spooner thing. But marrying coattails, riding for a few decades, and then jumping off at NYS Senator? A new one. And gross. AND lionized for it, with no caveats in sight.
Lastly, some or all of those politicians were criticized for exactly what you're saying (although Bush Sr. is more questionable on your list). I don't recall anyone on the left making this criticism of her. And those on the right didn't even criticize her FOR THAT, that I recall. I guess I'm the only one that noticed.......
This thread is understandably focused on the nightmare that is the current R party. But it's useful to be reminded periodically that no side is within a light year of perfect balance, consistency, and fairness.
I find myself agreeing with you an alarmingly high percentage of the time, so perhaps my opinion doesn't count here. But, I certainly noticed the same thing and I have the same perspective as you do.
(While some here would be quick to try to place me in the "Left" bucket, I consider myself to not be in any particular bucket - so perhaps we still don't have "anyone on the Left making that criticism of her.")
It is nice to have SOMEONE in the world agree with you!
And yes, it's very easy to be seen, incorrectly, as "on the left" on this thread (and perhaps by both "sides").
I'm reminded of that everyone once in while when I see the folks that you and I regularly (strenuously) agree with getting a good bit more enthused about various D politicians than I generally (or ever?) do !!

(Bush 1's dad was a US senator)
Got it. Of course, there are at least 2 flavors of the silver spooner thing. Those that no doubt greatly benefit from it, but DO at least kinda pay some dues at lower levels, and those that skip straight to rarified air.
And I don't mean to be a d***, honestly, but I don't think that Obama was on your list? If I'm mistaken, I apologize. If not, while certainly not a silver-spooner, still a pretty thin resume of accomplishments prior to becoming POTUS, if I recall. "Fortunately," for whatever it's worth, that WAS at least pointed out by many.
