A mercurial character for sure.

Remember when he called out Lagat last year?? I thought that was awesome. And it's amazing how quickly that was stifled. Did Bernard ever respond to the doping allegations? I seriously doubt a pro in the peak of his career would throw out accusations like that without being really really sure.

Torrance would often blurt out what would be called frustrations. He had nothing to base his dialog on as Lagat's case was already history, well documented and accepted. Lagat maybe one of the most respected athletes on the circuit.
Fogrunr - I think you might be on to something. Aneurysms are highly genetic and the fact that this guy was nearly the same age...... you may be right. I guess we will see.
..Who can explain it, who can tell you why, fools give you reasons, wise men never try...sweet peace for you David and thank you for all those incredible trips around the oval with all the inspiration they brought to so many...See you my friend
The untimely death of Torrence has weighed heavily on my mind.
Also a local cyclist (70 years old) killed in bike lane by a driver
with a suspended license.
Hope you runners doing the downhill mile, enjoy and be safe.

OK, David Kiprotich Bett died earlier this year while running. He ran 13:06 a few years ago. He was SEEMINGLY as healthy as Torrence. NONE of you seem to care about the cause of his death.
Because most people on LetsRun don't know who David Kiprotich Bett is. Common sense.
If my grandmother dies, I"m very upset. If the grandmother of someone I've never met dies, it's not a big deal.
Was it ever discovered the exact cause of death? Why he was in the pool?

Just my theory:
If he was wearing a swimming suit, probably a drowning/accident
If he was wearing street clothes, suicide.
But the mods discourage speculation, so I expect this reply to be deleted.......

His father died of as I recall a brain aneurysm at the same age as David. The odds are very high that that is what he died of.
Are they ever going to publish the autopsy findings?
If so, why all the secrecy?
Even if not, why all the secrecy?
What gives here?
