I agree. HTC and Motorola have some nice stuff. Samsung leaves much to offer on the software and hardware side, in my opinion. It's a shame they became the face of Android, because there are some good companies out there.

Moto G is a very nice phone, but it's clearly a mid-tier smartphone. It not exactly an apples to apples comparison. It scored near the bottom of just about every benchmark test - by a long shot for several. It scored considerably lower than even the iPhone 5s or the S4, phones that are over a year old. You are getting what you are paying for.

Point taken, but benchmarks don't matter much to me and it's hard to mark apples-to-apples comparisons on benchmarks. My phone is fast and fluid (mainly because it doesn't come with Touchwiz bloatware). Never even bothered to test the specs.
Case in point: A old Nokia Lumia 920 probably benchmarks FAR worse than the iPhone 6 or any high-end Android phone, yet the UI is the fastest of them all. The WP OS is lean and fluid.
