I personally don't doubt the Dubai course and give full credit to today's five 2:05 runners. Having 20-25 top racers to run with for so far into the course, and the prize of $200,000 plus course record bonuses combine to give quite an incentive to push to the limit.
On the other hand, I was surprised by the relatively small number of pacemakers compared to other top marathons.
I wonder how a healthy Mosop and Lel would have affected the times today. We'll never know, but that would have been something to see. As it is, this group of five have much to look forward to on the world marathon scene, and I'm looking forward to seeing them on other courses against more well-known names.
