Gebremariam wins it with a great kick.
Anyone know the name of the BBC commentator, he said this, "The Kenyans once more have found another way to lose this title"
so...kenya loses?
Wejo, that'll be Steve Cram. Fairly decent runner in his day apparently.
Does that mean they tie with a score of 28...and Kenya has the tiebreaker with a faster 5th place runner at 14th place?
Gebremariam Gebre-egziabher was the Jr. champion in 2002. Is 7th place Kosgey the same one I saw in NCAA results last year?

I think Kenya and Ethiopia are tied at 28. Do they go to the fith man? If so, Kenya wins.

also his wife (werknesh kidane) is a former world junior cross country champion and a senior world cross country champion, so i think that makes them the first married couple to each have won at world xc.
IAAF website now has Kenya listed as mens team winner.
Anything on German's foot yet. I already heard he was limping from a guy that is there!
after 3 5th place team finishes, not looking good for a 5th place sweep
From iaaf site:
611 TECHNICAL MATTERS AND REQUIREMENTS (EXTRACT)
611.5 Scoring – ALL RACES: teams of six runners of whom four finishers shall score. Each race shall be scored separately.
The team results shall be decided by the aggregate of places recorded by the scoring competitors of each team. The team with the lowest aggregate of points will be judged the winner.
In assessing the aggregate, no adjustment to the scoring placings of the finishing teams shall be made in respect of any non-scoring team runners or of individual entries.
Any tie will be decided in favour of the team whose last scoring member finishes nearer the first place.
Kenya takes 3 of the 4 races. Wins the Senior Men on a tiebreaker. Ethiopia wins the Junior Women on a tiebreaker.
Congrats to Ryan Vail, USA's #1 finisher in 33rd. Admittedly a B team, but still, good race for him. And 8th is not too bad for a B team.
so Kenya wins, 11th vs 12th place
wow no bekele at World cross and not a single kenyan medalled in the men's senior race. They can just forget about a senior men's gold medal until perhaps after bekele retires, oh wait but then abshero would just carry on where he left off. Kenya's screwed man.
US is 8th with 168 points
Vail 33rd 36:54
Curtis 37th 37:00
King 40th 37:05
Torres 58th 37:38
Moran 60th 37:42
Gotcher 75th 38:01
Vail picked up roughly 10 spots or so on the last loop. Same way he raced at USA's XC
vail and fernandez: top USA finishers. it's a good day for oklahoma state!
