Irrevelant, your name almost says it all...
but the icing on the cake was when you told Canada77
"if you are really opposed to people making money by making up facts,..."
Is that what Lynn Petronella is doing?
How exactly does one make up facts?
Don't they kinda just happen on their own?
They aren't facts if you are making them up.
Or is that a "Duh!" moment that even Homer Simpson would recognize?
Yes, Rosie Ruiz hurt Jacqueline Gareau and the BAA and the sport of marathoning and put a dent in people willing to believe when it comes to looking up to athletes.
Rosie Ruiz never admitted guilt. The same with Lynn Petronella...she has never acknowledged her exaggerations, fabrications, lies and continues to pursue a career (and earn a tidy sum of money) based on those falsehoods.
Isn't that what Con Men do?
I would be happy to see the Arizona State Attorney General's office pursue her for her fraudulent claims and any other law enforcement office that may have details on the crimes she has committed.

Many chiming in on this board seem surprisingly enthusiastic to support her and defend her like she has done nothing wrong and somehow it's just a PR problem where people just don't understand her and her goals.
Lynn and her minions continue in their attempts to deflect, obfuscate and try to change the subject without ever sounding contrite or remorseful for their indiscretions.
From a historical perspective, it can be acknowledged that she worked for PepsiCo in the early 80's and helped organize several 10k races around the country. It made her a lot of money and gave PepsiCo what it desired in the form of a lot of publicity and community goodwill. They are a business and that's what they intended to. For her to claim she was some great pioneer in the women's distance running movement is an outrageous exaggeration. I know too many runners, volunteers and unpaid Race Directors who toiled for years and did way more to promote the sport.
How many College Coaches, University Professors and business execs. have lost their jobs because of the fibbing and embellishments of their resume?
The desperate pursuit of the all mighty dollar is what corrupts some of these individuals and you can't blame the capitalistic system we live in, only those that lack the proper ethics and cannot draw a distinction or line between right and wrong.
What are the words I am looking for?
Personal responsibilty?
