I like to write "tempo"....you know....with quotations. Who defined tempo anyway? I know that "anaerobic conditioning" and "lactate threshold" are more specific. But "tempo"? Who owns that one? :)
Just finished 74min easy + 4x100m inclined strides. I felt hungover. Except I've had no alcohol lately.
Tomorrow, I look forward to a 4km "tempo". :) (It will be much faster than 15k race pace, but not as fast as 5k race pace. Discuss.)
Whatever is the % of your race pace for 5 km.
Say I once ran repeat tempo one milers in 5 min. I once ran 4;18 for the 1500 m so that would be 4:37 for the one mile. My best 10 miles was in 54:16, that would be @ 5:25 pace, my tempo running pace. Those repeat miles were done with a one lap jog in between but then were 'comfortable hard for over one mile, couldn't do 2 mile repeats at that pace though I could hold a 5:04 pace for 5 km.
