regarless of weather the course was right we know some of those guys are legit and proven in cross like mcgrath and haskell, and that makes the fact that they had a 10 second pack time amazing.

Did Cortland race yesterday?
Geneseo looks solid. Again.
Cortland ran in a team time trial of sorts from the look of it. guys at 26:29, another a little bit back from that. From the looks of it, it was a very controlled run, at least on Cloke and Nally's part.
Any results for the cortland meet?
Geneseo looks to have fully reloaded for another run this fall, until other teams race all out they have to be the SUNYAC favorite once again
Geneseo is the real deal this year. Geneseo returns Mike McGrath as a senior, leading the team this season with first year Jesse Berubue right in front of him. Jon Gauthier is coming off a great outdoor season 15:18 5k with transfers Lokett (UB) and Mulcahy (Elizabethtown)a force to contend with. Watch out for Haskell and Tillapaugh to make a move to the front of the pack as well. Geneseo is the team to beat this season. That 10 second spread 1-5 will be hard to beat. On to the individules, watch out for Fontana Fluke of Alfred Univeristy. He ran a 14:53 at States last outdoor season. This xc season he is training with Geneseo alumni Dan Moore (who ran at the Buff State meet; 25:49) so he will be a contender for one of the individule spots. Thats all for now.
Shouldn't this Fluke guy be training with his Alfred State team for cross country?
Fluke IS the team; he's the only runner they have.
That's interesting, I counted about 14 guys on their roster.
Anyone actually have an answer about why a kid on a college team is supposedly training this season with a graduate of Geneseo? It's a simple question, I mean is the Geneseo guy an assistant coach at Alfred? That would be one logical explanation.
He is going there for graduate school and helping out with the team.
hey dickwad, why do you have a problem with someone training to get faster. Dan Moore has been a top 10 finisher in the region, somewhere that Fluke has the ability to and apparently wants to be. Considering hes the only one on his team with that talent, why wouldnt he look to someone who has been there and knows what it takes? The more competitive runners the region has the better. If Coach Woods' influence was spread around to all schools like this then our region would be much better
Well I'm glad someone finally had an answer, it seemed like a fairly simple question. Nothing worth getting all worked up over.

TCNJ gets donovan back through some eligibility loophole within the NCAA rules.
I heard the Buff State course was like 250m short when people measured it, so on a real course none of those geneseo times are sub 26. Cortland looked impressive in their time trial, the front pack cruised close to what geneseo ran (in a real race) and they had several freshman close behind. We will see how they all stack up next week in oswego. Does anyone know when nyu or jersey open up?
The big meet this weekend looks like it's gonna take place in Oswego.
Geneseo, Cortland, St. Lawrence, and Ithaca headline the top teams converging on the Pat Peterson invite this weekend.
Should be interesting to see what Cortland and SLU do racing in their first real meets of the season and they are gonna have some stiff competition with Geneseo and how impressive they looked at Buffalo State.
Oswego, Potsdam, and Alfred should all have 1 or 2 runners be up in the top 25.
disuss...
Ithaca had their alumni meet over the weekend. Girls team looks solid, but the twins are gone (transfered to some small school in Kentucky). The guys team was beat by a pretty weak alumni squad.
We'll see how they stack up at Oswego this weekend.
I heard that Cortland is not running their top guys this week at Oswego. Any truth to that?
Why wouldnt Cortland run their main guns?
They already got their feet wet with that 8K race/tempo run they did last weekend on their home course. Seems like they would want to see what they had at this point in the season and where they are in relation to Geneseo and St. Lawrence.
Especially since there have been some lofty expectations placed on Cortland this year on this site!
