Looks increasingly that the field is catching up with Jakob. He reminds me of Ryun, who lost his early supremacy.
Interesting fact: Ryun started losing his supremacy once IOC instituted its Medical Comission and set up its first list of prohibited substances. First doping controles were introduced during the OG in Mexico in 1968, which also was the last meaningful year in Ryun's career.

did ryun have connections early in life that would point to him being an early ped adapter?
I also find it interesting how incredibly mediocre he was when he attempted a very late life comeback.
It is quite apparent that there are posters here who have no idea what the subject of the thread is or are simply not interested in it; the only subject that has their attention is me. Weird.
That's just your fantasy, being the center of attention. Weird.

I personally haven't heard about any connections. But I have read an article a couple of years ago about some US team coach from back then that has stated that the majority of the team was on steroids and he would be surprised if Ryun wasn't. I will try to find that interview.
Either way, an interesting coincidence. Anti-Doping movement begins, Ryun's career ends.

Friend, this guy is a lost cause, dont let him drag you down with him. He has no self awareness and won’t change his ways. We all know he’s a basement dwelling loser, better just ignore his moronic ramblings. If you check his post history he’s been doing this obsessive commentary forever, he’s not gonna suddenly understand common sense.

The irony. From you who posts on nothing and no one else.

I like the way the same person responds to themselves with a different user name. And still on the same subject as always.
I have been posting here since 2001. Long before you found this place to vent your frustration at being a useless human.
You had nothing to post on until you vented your frustration at another poster. You now have a meaning to your life.
Your life got a meaning six years ago when you found this place.
15 posts/day on average since about a subject you are not interested in (you hate 99% of the protagonists) with the only goal (according to you) to reduce other posters.

"Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it".
Need a hazmat suit to enter this thread already ...

Since you obviously follow all of them your life has acquired new meaning.

Well the IOC did not test for steroids at the 68 games. He came second to Kenio - who climbed out of his hospital bed, ran to the start line, and then ran one of the most ludicrously unbelievable performances in Olympic history. The only suspicion should be on the guy who won that race against the odds (and would have destroyed Herb Elliott, Peter Snell, and likely even Coe and Ovett if they had had a timemachine and been placed in that race).

Anabolic steroids were indeed not on the initial 1968 OG list, because the scientists did not yet have a way to test for them. First testing for steroids was implemented during the 1976 games in Montreal. Other substances were tested in Mexico though: alcohol, cocaine, vasodilators, opiates, amphetamines, ephedrine and cannabis.
Kip Keino, unlike Ryun, was still relevant until 1972, where he got 2nd at the OG in Munich. It was Ryun's career, that dissolved into oblivion, as soon as anti-doping testing began.
