Funny how many people downvote when an athlete from a different sport does well in running. The point is volume is volume and you don't have to do massive miles to be a great runner. Triathlete Morgan Pearson just came in 4th place at XC Nats, same place as Allie O did in the womans. Letsrun intelligentsia get anxious when crossover athletes do well. I guess if all you can do is run and only run to train and you suck at every other sport you get threatened when other athletes show up and challenge the massive miles per week dogma. '
Pearson was a 4 year member of CU xc & track, including an NCAA team title, and then went tri post college based on high school swim ability. The LRC intelligentsia considers him a runner, so he gets a pass on bashing.
Allie O is even more of a runner. She only gets bashed due her (and boyfriend's) efforts to be internet influencers.
