It was interesting. It sure didn’t look like Yared was intent on going flat out for the whole last 300. I think we all kind of suspected he might just go full bore. He instead let the foot off, and then hung in there to uncork that last 100. Certainly was an effective way to push Hocker wide too when he moved out to kick down Waskom. Could not have worked out better for Kessler, but he had nothing additional.
Another funny LetsRun thing is I’ve often thought and posted Tim Cheruiyot was not great at navigating packs or kicking down guys in the last 100. At Kenyan Trials he went full masterclass on that and seemed to jog a 3:34.0 win.
