Those two are a couple... They have a great connection that shows in the video. I hope both of them kick ass.. They aren't beating Sydney or Athing, but it was a great interview
im pretty sure femke would not have run a 49.2 against jarmila, back in the early 80s.take the shoes away, and put her on an 80s track, her run would be nearer 50.2.still ridiculously fast, but not as quick as jarmila.
A bit of apples and oranges comparison, no. you have removed shoes and track, but made no mention of the drug cocktail Jarmila was on. Is this your way to say Femke is juicing as well or you don't think Jarmila was?
Do you really think, given our telling drug history, that a clean runner could get a world record?

Jarmilia almost definitely. She didn't break 53 seconds until she was 27 and broke the WR at 32. Czechoslovakia had a state sponsored doping program, which I'm sure she was a part of.
I would say Bol is also. I think there comes a point where we need to start looking at people's performances and progression. How quick does someone have to go before we're allowed to start pointing fingers without any proof of doping. We are way past the point of giving athletes the benefit of the doubt.

We certainly shouldn't be seeing WRs getting smashed. The mens 400m outdoor WR was dropped by only 0.83 in 48 years and 0.15 in 16 years. So if someone comes out and starts running mid 42s or even high 42s we have the right to be suspicious.
That sounds like a bit of copium. That record has stood since the 80s, people have tried to break it on all sorts of tracks and Bol has actually done it. Not saying she is going to beat SML but there's no need to try and suggest this is some sort of soft record that someone was inevitably going to take down on the right track. This is a big deal - it's one of the obviously doped records off the books. Now for the outdoor 400 and 800
T&F needs more athletes with Bol's mind set. She runs full seasons with many races and seems to face anyone they put against her. And at the end of the outdoor season she is still running her best times and winning medals, I am an American and I am more of a fan or her than I am of SML
Hard to disagree. Sml is very likable, but Fembot-- we get to actually see compete. Which is nice.
Whether all the SM fans want to admit or not, the 2nd best 400h is getting notably faster. Thats a good thing if we want to see a closer 400h. She is improving.
No,im just stating a fact. The shoes and fast track make femke faster than she would be on an early 80s track, and she would not have beaten jarmila.I never mentioned juicing(except in your mind) but now that you mention it,i dont believe theres such a thing as clean at that leval,or a clean world record.
As for the Thyrax 'accusations' from van Diepen , I suggest you familiarise yourself with more up-to-date news. Van Diepen clarified his words in a statement to the press:
"I regret that the performance of athletes, the Dutch athletics program and the coaching by Charles have come under suspicion as a result of recent publications around my words.
I was actually referring to an introductory meeting with Charles in February 2019, in which there was talk about looking for and setting boundaries in a broad sense. Thus philosophizing about the boundaries in sport and how far you go as an athlete. I wrongly got the feeling that Charles was encouraging the use of thyrax, which he was not".
So there you go. And no other athlete has spoken about CVC trying to encourage them to use thyrax.
Didn't CVC bring a lawsuit against Van Diepen before he recanted? Wasn't there another athlete in the meeting with Van Diepen who corroborated the story? I'd have to find the article but I recall there were two. As others have said in the thread, it's not like Kersee is any less tainted. But this whole air of one athlete being able to demolish a record that probably took loads of turinabol to set without raising a few eyebrows is naive. Memo Heredia in 2008 said it best: "there will be 8 men in the 100m final, and all of them will be doped."
Czechoslovakia had a state sponsored doping program, which I'm sure she was a part of.
Aha. Tell us more about this, since it seems you have unique knowledge.
I don't know that this answers the question.
"In 2006, the Prague daily, Mf Dnes, said it had uncovered documents which proved the central committee of the Communist party, and the government, had orchestrated a doping programme, but showed nothing to link Kratochvilova to it, despite her being their brightest star."
