Honestly, most of those back waves don't look like they made the time standards. I wonder what % of the non-pros are time standard vs. open/charity runners.
They said Do Nascimento ran 4:53 for 6th and 4:17 for 7th mile but no way that is right. Probably the 6th mile was long. They need to have a little thought before they say that.
Man, I don't know. He looked like he was running 10k pace and he was so far up on the bike like he was drafting on it (or trying to).
I like Do Nascimento's strategy . If he wants to win this thing I think pulling a Meb might be the way to go. But I think he's running way too fast. Time will tell.

Meb was a bit smarter about it. He ran 2:08 pace while the chase pack was running 2:10-2:11. Do Nascimento is running 2:01 pace lol.
DDN might just be the non-African hope (although he probably does have Afro-Brazilian ancestry) for the marathon. 2:04:51 PB, guts to run in front and he's young at 24. Hope he's clean
Both wheelchair course records gone,so much for people moaning it is too hot.
The ESPN broadcast covered this--they said the warmer weather helps the wheelchair racers since they get better traction with the wheel on each stroke.
