Jesuit LA almost got cooked by Carmel without Vocke. Also a freshman almost scoring for this team. Sampedro was injured earlier this season. But was their #3 last year I think. Next year they will be so deadly if their 5 are on. Jesuit OR almost got cooked by a team no one ever heard of. They were missing Jerry Schumacher’s son who is probably their 6th. Looks like their fifth is ways back. So unless Eastlake is underrated, Jesuit LA is better than Jesuit OR by a long shot

I’m sure Plainfield south are happy with their result. Plainfield South justified themselves as #2 in the MW. So they are in the position to make nxn. Top 2 make it. Next mw team only 35 behind them though so they’re vulnerable. I wonder how Sage Wilde’s MO team (Liberty north) would have done here. Heard they are #1 in mo atm. Here were their times from today 5000 METER RUN 14:36.20 Sage Wilde 2nd Boys El Caliente 15:41.20 Grayson Tapp 29th Boys El Caliente 15:46.70 Jorge Perezruiz 39th Boys El Caliente 15:50.10 Collin Kleinhen 43rd Boys El Caliente 16:12.40 Asher Curp 92nd Boys El Caliente 16:38.70 Sean Forquer 136th Boys El Caliente 17:57.50 Isheanesu Nziramasanga 327th Boys El Caliente No team in IL looks to cook Plainfield south though. Ps should win state. HC’s gamboa had an off day but there is no evidence they will find a 5. Someone will have to run completely out of their mind at state and NXR for hinsdale to challenge PS.

I think only DGN has the best shot to beat them. They have the depth but need to close about 10 seconds per man.
If you were going to look down upon Plainfield South for losing to Jesuit and Carmel, remember we are talking about a team that only got 7th at state last year. Losing to 2 top 5 teams in the nation. Kind of hard to make big jump from 7th in the state to a top 5 in the nation unless you totally change the training like Doug soles did at Herriman (obviously a different better coach seems helpful too). Carmel got an elite transfer from Minnesota who ran a sub 15:10. Something else that Plainfield South wasn’t fortunate enough to get. Another thing for you to keep in mind

Add 20-30 seconds to those times to compare Chile pepper to Terre haute.
Looks like Liberty north would lose to Zionsville / Noblesville even without adding any seconds to their times. They are also lacking a number 5. So we can already tell that they are not in contention to qualify from what we see now

Not Oak Park river forest? They have better 3 mile times
Time comparison isn't as accurate unless using the same barometer as head to head results. DGN is the only team that actually gave PS a race at First to the Finnish. OP was demolished by them at Palestine. DGN also has a greater upside because of their depth through 1-7, OP shows weakness after their 5th runner as shown at Pal.
1-5 average for DGN against PS at FTTF was -13 seconds
1-5 average for OP against PS at Palatine was -29 seconds

I don't see what any of that has to do with the fact they were soundly beaten. They were coming off an impressive win at Palatine, they obviously were pointing towards this meet otherwise why schedule it and were beaten at every spot. Carmel went 1-2 on Viger who is by far PS #1 runner. They want to make noise at NXN they need to be faster.
Plainfield south’s Owen o’shea went from a 5K time in the 17s last year to 15:37 this year (their #3 guy now). He definitely helped this team complete the score after boerger not performing as well as he was last year
4th at Peoria gahdaym. Finn Richards sub 15. 5 under 16. Everyone played these guys off as a joke. This is a state qualifying team if I’ve ever seen one. 59 points behind Neuqua and beat DGS AND York. I cant believe that one guy thought I was crazy for gassing these guys up
Also, can we talk ab how 4 went under 15 at Twilight?!?! Methner only ran 14:57 there. Watcke ran 14:58 on October 1. That course runs about a minute slower than Detweiler. Sub 14 for Watcke?
Lincoln-Way East has been quietly putting up the results. Yesterday at locktoberfest their top runner didn’t score (15:46), one of their scorers and their #7 ran f/s (16:03, other soph has went from 18:05-16:27) and their number 2 runner from ‘21 has raced only once this year(15:47), and still won the meet beating ranked Wheaton North, along with Lincoln-Way Central, Naperville North, Jones, and others. They have consistently been able to have different scoring orders while keeping their 1-5 split sub 30sec, 1-7 sub 45sec. Could this be the most underrated team in Illinois?

another thing i have failed to mention, by season pr they have 17sec on 1-5, 41 on 1-7, and 50 on 1-8.
