I expressed myself exactly as I intended. I didn't hint at anything. I asked a question. Sorry.
absolute garbage. you did everything you could to make it clear why you are undermining her and what you are accusing her of without coming out and stating it. why are you so afraid to say it exactly? this is an anonymous message board not some NCAA rules committee. why all the dodging and double speak and refusing to acknowledge what you are implicating exactly? have the balls to say it.
I think tuohy would have been happy to give up the lead, especially.ly if the pace was decent
If Tuohy let her go ahead and take the rail, then Valby would be in the lead and in position to control the race thereafter. If she had the fitness and race savy, she could pull off what Mo Farrah used to do, which is speed up to get front-runner on-the-rail position, and then slow down and relax.
I think there were a number of girls in that race who could close faster than Valby off a slow pace, so I am not certain why she would utilize that race strategy. And I do think Touhy would be happy to sit behind someone for a while, as most people would. So yes Valby ideally should have been right behind Touhy, but not certain your tactics would have worked for her to get there.
One more thing IRex. Since you accuse me of cowardice, when have you ever asked a question about anything in this sport? This sport out of all sports, where so much is bs and lies? When have you ever questioned something that seems odd or anomalous? Ever questioned a progression that does not make natural sense? Unlike you I am willing to do that. I called Houlihan out from the onset when everyone was insisting how classy and nice she was and making the usual excuses for her radical improvement.
Here I am asking a perfectly fair question about a seemingly odd performance progression. (And no running 10:10 as a junior does not answer it, lol). A progression taking place coupled with a significant and seemingly unusual physical transformation. No one had Valby as a threat in the 5000m, yet she lowers her PR week after week and beats seemingly more accomplished runners handily? Where did that come from? You think this is about Tuohy, but I remember the look Roe gave Valby during the race. I think the expression was incredulity. Trust me, but if I am asking a lot of others are also. Maybe it is some great latent ability. Maybe not. You have be utterly obtuse in this sport not to wonder. Sorry.
I have no issue with you questioning. Ive seen plenty of posts youve made talking about pro runners and your opinion of EXACTLY what you thought they were doing but you never heard a peep from me because that was fair. You made a direct accusation and left it there. I may not have agreed with you in every instance but it was a fair opinion and you called it by name and didnt do some winky double talk implication without actually making an accusation like you are doing here which comes off as hollow and contrived and cowardly and a sleazy attempt to undermine their respective performances and definitely not a coincidence that both these athletes are considered one way or another rivals of Katelyn Tuohy either by competition or by mark.
Yep. People want to shoot the messenger, but I have seen this comment more than once. The facts are that Valby 1) has made massive improvements in her PRs over a short period after showing no ability to run national class times in high school; 2) has undergone a significant and noticeable physical transformation where she appears unusually physically developed for her age, to the point that people associate her level of physical development to someone in her mid 20s. She even runs as if she assumes that she can outstrength her competition. That is not an accusation, simply pointing out facts and asking a fair question. Which is what exactly is UF doing in training their athletes? The program just swept nationals and has a number of world class athletes in disciplines that do not exactly have a sterling reputation. Downvote away. Don't care.
You keep saying #2 like it’s fact but the “mid 20s” part is in your head. She seems like an athletic college girl is all. Distance running is known to make one lean and weight training more muscled.
I'm going out on a limb here and guessing she'll make a world team at 5000m on ~40-50miles/week. She'll still cross train, she'll still strength train.
Doesn't the NCAA drug test? I mean I know they do but I guess there are some questions about how robust they're testing is??? Anyway what is the sentiment is it easy to get past the NCAA testing or is the testing fairly good???

Parker Valby would have qualified for USATF Outdoor Championships with her time, yet she surprisingly did not enter. Valby has the fresher legs out of all the collegians. The top 6 american finishers in the women's 5000m will be running at USATF Championships except for the much fresher and constantly PR-ing Valby.
One thing that came into my mind on why she did not enter is because of the event drug testing. This is just my wild guess, feel free to agree and disagree and discuss.
Is Parker Valby clean? Why did she not enter in USATF Outdoor Championships?

I would assume she's doing everything she can to stay healthy and not push it too far, too fast. She just did everything she could to help her team win and now she can rest more, recovering at a smart and reasonable pace. Give her a break. I really doubt she's on drugs and only running two days a week. If she was juiced up, she'd be running way more.

I would also assume all collegians would grab this rare opportunity, to run at a USA trials. Top collegians are going. Valby has ran three 5k races, NCAAs and USAs are 2 weeks apart, plenty of rest. I believe the NCAA roll-out random drug testing that's not really random and they certainly don't do it yearly, anyone with more info on this?
Who knows how much Valby is really running. One thing is obvious, she trains extremely hard, as one cannot have that amount of muscles with just little training, and little running.
I can tell that none of you competed. I was tested 12 times in college. One test was at 6AM on a weekday. These accusations are disgusting. This girl is so talented and humble. The most muscular runner in the race was Tuohy. Is Astro asking how she runs so fast while being so big? The Tuohy fans go on and on about how she ran so fast after a surgery. I don't think either have doped. You need to stop these ridiculous accusations.
I was at many of Parker Valby’s races in high school. She is extremely talented and works very very hard. She ran a 10:10 in the 3200 her junior year, while being significantly heavier than she is now. The simple answer to her success this past year is due to three things:
talent, very hard work, slimming down to race shape.

She's also not training at 100% capacity, so while she ran at NCAAs to score points and help her team win the national title maybe it makes sense for her to take a rest and reset so she can run more than 3 times a week. That would be my guess. She's not in position to make the team, and probably wants to make some noise in XC.
