I think you might be right, that was an otherworldly performance. Times on XC courses that start out uphill like Holmdel are almost always slow for obviously reasons but also because early on in the race you are hurting and your focus becomes making sure you have something in reserve to win. Winning was a foregone conclusion and Tuohy was able to do something NJ kid's rarely do which is disrespect the course, throw caution to the wind and push 'absolutely' all out from beginning to end. You also have to remember Tuohy ran a 15: 37 5K a few moths latter which means she was an NCAA all-American running a high school course.
