The vaccine itself is fine and I think people should take it, but it should be their choice. Just like people should take a multi vitamin and workout.
I think I agree with this. Part of the problem is antivaxers have similar outrage towards unvaccinated citizens being denied entry to a new year's eve party as they do fines and jail. I'm fine with making life tough for them, if they want to do one of those horrible tests everyday so be it.
I'll say though that it does seem Austria has a particularly low vaccination rate and with such a low rate either the economy is going to suffer if there's a shutdown or more people are going to die over winter than need to. There's likely going to be more anti-government protests if they become the sick man of Europe, both literally and economically, than there will from mandatory vaccination. Government has to weigh up whether this is the least unpopular decision.
