I don't think that USATF is LETTING Houlihan run. I think they are being legally FORCED to let Houlihan run.
I don’t think USATF is under jurisdiction to be “forced” to do anything. Houlihan does not have a right to compete. USATF can deny entry to anyone, even though they meet criteria- they just don’t do it because there’s no reason to. However this is different.[/quote]
Has anyone seen any USATF policies regarding this particular scenario (running while appealing)? Is this a brand new thing?
Also, if USATF were being legally forced to let Houlihan run, would there not be an indication of that somewhere in their statement? It seems like they would want to hint that they were being forced. Of course, if Nike holds that much sway over USATF, well, then all bets are off.
