It's a very interesting time in politics.
Republicans:
Smart Republicans know that Trump is a double edged sword. He charges up and is loved by the wacko cult members. But he has become increasingly unhinged and on a national level the embrace of the big lie and all the crazy talk is hurting the party in the long run. He makes party members who support him risk being exposed as weak liars. It was huge that Pence clearly and publicly stated, "Trump is wrong". And the fact that so far he has not been significantly attacked by other party leaders for doing that is huge.
Smart Republicans know Trump will lose for them in national elections but helps in many Republican primaries. Republican will play the soft race and cultural issues to the max. An alternate, nontrump candidate is the Republicans best chance to win in 2024.
Democrats:
They don't love Biden and they never have and never will. He is old, white and male, everything the progressives didn't like. They don't sell his accomplishments with much gusto (And Biden doesn't seem to demand that they do this) Bi-partisan infrastructure bill (how many presidents talked about this and never did that?) Strong economy despite omicron. He had the balls to take us out of the loser war Afghanistan (Voters will forget it was messy and will be glad we are out). Black female judge will help will some the of the progressives.
Once Covid is basically over (as much as possible) and if the economy is still strong Biden will regain much popularity. He will surprise. The progressives will need to back him and with emotion and passion. If they don't, it will be very bad for them and for the country. We will see a Republican president.
(PS the cult members can still pathetically try to rely on Hunter Biden's emails to save them, lol)
