Today I did 30min jog (mostly trail) + (4x100m + 300m) on the track in spikes + 10min jog (on the infield in spikes).
It has been 2 weeks since my last "speed test" (200m in 29-something), so today I decided to giver on a 300m. I felt like a zombie (sleep deprivation) on the warmup jog, but, my 100s felt surprisingly good, in 23, 19, 16.5 and 14.95sec. The 300 felt great through 200, but then the piano was placed onto my back by 250. I struggled at the end. But I was pleased with 45.15sec. I'm confident that I can delay that piano through training and go sub60 400 this year. (Perhaps end June.)

Go 4 it.
Haven't had internet access for the past week as I have been away from home at my summer job. Compared to college, it's a lot harder to get the energy to run when working 8-10 hours a day....
I was getting over a hamstring injury from the middle of last week so took last weekend off. The week went
Monday 8 @6:00
Tuesday 5 @6:30 and 5@6:00
Wednesday 10@5:30
Thursday 8@6:00
Friday-off, I worked 8am to 8pm
Saturday 5.5@6:30 and 5.5@5:30
Sunday 9@5:30 (very hot)
yesterday full rest
today will swim
No run yesterday.
Today 26 min +/- Varied pace, HRM was acting up.
Yesterday I did no running. In fact, I did NOTHING. Didn't even get out of the house.
Today, during a 12hr day shift, I was able to sneak out for 30min jog + 4 short strides + 1 Mile + 10min jog. The Mile was a cruisy, tempoish 5:50 on the old dirt track, but my calves were screaming/stiff/unresponsive, and it became somewhat difficult to run this pace. It was uglay!
I know why. It's because of yesterday's inactivity. Even a short walk would have helped immensely.
I cycled to/from work today, about 32min each way.
Today I ran 5 miles plus 11 hill repeats (roughly 100m each). I felt pretty horrible except for the last hill.
May 24, relaxed 20 mile bike ride with my bride. 1:43:20.
May 25,4 miles AM in 34 minutes. Knees feeling normal again.
May 26, Ran as part of a 5 person group on 18.3 miles of singletrack. The Trail skirts the south shore of Lake Superior in the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Time out was 3:36. Sore today.
friday thru monday.....fishing....no running.....no fish.....lots of bugs, beer and fun......will try to run today.....not promising anything
nice eundurance driske.
today: swim, approx 1 hour. Toying with improvised hypoxic laps...seems like the only thing remotely close to doing all-out intervals on the track...
counting the recovery days.
Is it safe yet? :-) I kid, of course!
It's been a while and I cannot remember them all. Last week was mostly endurance stuff with one track session featuring 400s and 600s. I cannot recall the details. Sorry. Sunday was off, Monday hills, and today a long run (88') with lifting. Good stuff!
Keep up the good work, all! This thread rocks because of the contributions you ALL make. Don't let the trolls try to take credit for it. You're the best!!
lolol, nice try rd.
no run yesterday.....thundershower......bad timing......today for sure....
more water, growing gills...

Another milestone! 1500 posts!! I know some of that is thanks to the troll(s), but the majority is good stuff from you DYRT diehards. This is YOUR thread! Don't listen to anyone making any claims of ownership or genesis. This thread is bigger than any one person. Keep up the good work, all!
Today, 56' tempo.
