I really think excess deaths (like the paper I posted on Europe last Friday) is the only way to really account for age differences and reporting differences.
When you break it down by original strain, Alpha, Delta, Omni - the effect of vaccinations is quite clear but I fears that’s too much data for the thread.
To minimize the effect of reporting differences the sensible thing to do is sort it out as best as possible within each countries reporting system. This, of course, is what sensible people have done.
It's also why people invested in not reaching the sensible conclusions look elsewhere and make a lot of scientifically meaningless noise.
