I always enjoy reading your posts, tpcb. When I started the original DYRT, you were the dream contributor that I hoped for. There will always be trolls at letsrun. I've finally learned how to deal with them.DYRT on!

driske,
are you sure it was me? Either way, you made my running day.
Maybe just some lucky insight. For sure i can remember times when i waffled on about something and was fortunate enough to find somebody to teach me a lesson but spare my dignity.
It was such precious treatment, i try to apply it to myself as often as i can, dealing with what i think, what i say, what i write.
The Tundra? That's some running playground... World's getting so small we might even meet at some point...
Today: i was going to go swimming. Still might do. But I have been getting lost inside (and outside) my left foot, my tendons, ligaments, bursa, sheaths and, as we call them here, "retinacoli" with my physiotherapists, and came up with some pretty drastic, good news.
This was my running day. Too long to get into now.
But reassuring.
Still the Patience and Perseverence holds true. For this one time. For me. And everybody else.
Go driske, GO!
By the way: hiya Trolls!! Keep up the thread padding. Not kidding. A bit of padding, just like bursae for tendons and bones, can save from a lot of damage...

I was a relative newcomer to letsrun when I reeled off an overly simplistic reply to a young fellow dealing with shin splints. The time you took with this same young man and the exqusitely detailed road back to full activity you delivered for this guy blew me away. In a nut shell, and for what it's worth, you have my full and unqualified respect. Not to mention, the accounts of your activities and running in Italy do a lot to expand the horizons of an aging farm boy tied to 350 acres of ground just abit down the road from Green Bay's frozen Tundra. Thank You.
AM, 19 miles on the bike. PM, 2.4 miles in 17:53.

DYRT on!
Where is the original DYRT thread? Link please.
Yesterday, no run.
Today, for 31'26" Same route as Tues., nearly 2 min. quicker. Recovering from strain?
managed to get my swim in.
applications.
5 miles (36:02); just taking it easy before i get into real summer training.
8 miles easy + strides.
Track workout tomorrow. This week will be somewhat lower in volume than the last few, ~70 miles, as I get towards the end of the track season.
Today I did 30min jog + 4 short strides + 40sec at 90ish% effort + 10min jog.
I sure miss Running Dogg. Where's he been lately? I do hope he answers those questions too.
:)
3.2 miles in 30:17 this AM. Temps around 45F,sunny and calm.
tpcb, yes the world is growing smaller and the chance of a meeting is not all that strange.
A year and a half ago I had no e-mail and was total illiterate about the web/computers etc.
But I wanted to run NYCM, badly. My loving bride and kids got sick of doing web navigating for me to get entered etc.(Rural dial up connections are a real pain)
So they issued the ultimatum. Basically, do it your self or it won't happen. So where is this all going? Well, I got a book on computing for seniors and got online.
To my astonishment, I absolutely loved it. I started to frequent the NYRR site and cranked up the courage to post after a couple months of lurking. A dialogue with a Brit ensued and we met at NY for a run in Central Park.
We've kept in touch and he's coming to Wisconsin in June to visit and run in Grandma's up in Duluth on the 21st.
Then in regards to websites, a couple guys told me about flotrack and letsrun. Wow ,did that NYRR board look bland in comparison. They still zap my credit card to be a member but I haven't logged in for months.
Anyway, enough babbling, with gas prices soaring at least we can run and surf.
Sticking my neck out a bit here, Skuj, if that's really you, it's good that your back in the mix.

Good stuff, driske. I love your posts.

He's made a point of staying in the background when the trolling picks up here. He may be waiting to see if your behaviour will improve.
And speaking of answering questions, when are you going to answer the one recently posed about the original DYRT? I'm sure we'd all like to hear your answer to that one. :)
Along with the link to the DYRT thread we also need London Grinch's running descriptions. No?
39' yesterday.....not ticks.....going fishing......be back Tuesday?......

:)
RuunningDogLondonGrinchJibbaJabbaHammy Etc linked to it on the very first post of part 2. The letsrun Mods chopped off the first few pages of part 1 for some reason. But please see JZ response to me early in part 1.
It doesn't matter though. Are we all having fun? :)
A typical sleep pattern for me these days is 5am to 11am. I've certainly had to rearrange running, and my whole life really. But I've never been happoer / more content.
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8446/april2008062vn0.jpgThe weather is gorgeous here today.....can't wait to DYRT, later on....
Peace And Love, everyone. Even you, RunningDoggLondonGrinchJibba Etc...Send me an email, Darling. I know who you are. Let's stop this silliness.
nice photo.
Anyway, no activity today.
Bare hands swimming tomorrow.

Neither have you. :)
Today, after walking / playing with 10 dogs, I felt rather tired, and my run was short and easy:
20min jog + 4 short strides + 2:01 at 70ish% effort + 10min jog.
30 minutes of walking and jogging.110 AHR.
That picture speaks legions of priorities in the right place. Thumbs up.
Bike commute + hobbling around at kids swim meet.
My little man had a cry attack before he got in the pool.
Looking from afar it was gutwrenching.
The instructors were cool. Just slowed down procedures a little. Took it easy and allowed for just the right amount of delay.
He raced and then was smiling. My daughter is nowhere near as emotional... (who coined the expression "weaker sex"...??)
