It's important to remember that the GOP is hardly anti-war. The reason they are against Ukrainian military aid is not based on principle. They are anti-Biden and want him to look bad. Also, many in the GOP are beneficiaries of Russian mob money (looking at you NRA--to GOP) funneled into their campaign. And of course the dear leader has made it his position to make Russia Great again by siding with him in literally everything they do.
As such, don't waste your time believing our right wingers are anti war and peaceniks.
Wasn't King M4GA floating the idea of attacking Mexico?
Attack them? He couldn’t even build a wall in four years.
The only thing Aqua Net Head attacks is a buffet followed by a larger attack on the men’s room.
But, For some of us this thread is simply a place where we can shoot the sh!t and deposit the latest in this off the wall, bizarro time we live in where the President is facing as many as 4 possible felony in 4 jurisdictions. More insanity coming out each week. And at the same time this President is the leading candidate of the GOP and daily posts the most insane rantings on his social media as he tries to stir up unrest and chaos toward any that might hold him legally accountable.
The fact that people still support him and come on this thread to engage in whataboutisms and talk about how he has good policies and deserves another Presidency is just noise and to be ignored. To put it another way, there is no attempt being made to work out any disagreements with cultists. They will never leave Trump. They love him more than their firstborn.
You don’t get it either. People support Trump because of what he supports fools. We aren’t just going to jump over to Bribery Joes World and send bombs to kill kids because you arrest the only guy who can end it. we aren’t just going to give up our Second Amendment rights because you arrest the best hope at keeping them. The list is long.
Because of what you think he supports. Trump hates you mouth breathers and doesn't care about your interests. He openly only cares about himself. You were duped. If you still support him after all we've seen and will continue to see you deserve nothing but ridicule.
I can only imagine anytime someone tried to get Trump do some of the criming more directly he would probably tell them that he has to keep his hands clean to be able to protect them. Mob boss style. He has never been loyal to anyone.
I get a kick out of Trumpers claiming he was a pacifist President.
If Trump could have benefited himself politically or financially he would have gladly nuked anyone. He even floated the idea of attacking Iran after he lost to cause a commotion to stay in office. Also, He was just too busy grifting to bother with any geopolitical issues whatsoever. He simply didn’t care about any of it.
stop pretending Trump has any righteous principles. You look dumb when you do.

This makes me curious as to whether either of Trump's two diehards in this thread can name a single selfless act attributable to the man in any of his capacities, public or private.
Normally, this wouldn't be a relevant ask of the supporters of any high profile figure, but Trump's supporters are quite adamant that he does what he does specifically for the forgotten and dispossessed-- in other words, people very much unlike himself.
And don't just list his policies and broad aims. All politicians have these, yet no one tries to claim they do what they do to specifically aid the powerless and forgotten. They all claim to be trying to make the country better for everyone, whilst Trump claims to be the representative specifically of those having difficulty helping themselves.
Aside from the libidinal thrill Trump's anti-lib and zenophobic rhetoric gives some ordinary people, I can't see that anything he did as President (very much less as businessman) helped anyone but himself and people like him. The only thing that ever comes to mind among his deeds as President is the giant tax cut that disproportionately benefitted the wealthy.
Getting ordinary people to think he genuinely cares about them might be the most magical of all Trump's many grifts.

Here is the funny and pathetic thing. Trump rushed the covid vaccine out quickly and the vaccine saved lives. Granted every President would have done exactly the same.
Keep in mind that Trumps motive with all things Covid was to get the economy going again fast to get re-elected. (100% Personal benefit- remember when he wanted low reported Covid numbers because they were making him look bad)
Ironically, this is one thing that he could claim was done for the good of others, but he can’t because he diminished and downplayed Covid so much that he helped create the antvax movement. Many of his supporters are antivax and think covid is a hoax because he told them it was.

isn’t that a kick in the teeth to Mr Trump?
Wrong, not every President would have done the same thing. Trump did amazing work as President, only the Globalists thought otherwise.

If you actually believe Donald J Trump was making unilateral epidemiological and pharmaceutical production decisions for the nation without expert recommendations you need to get some clinical help.

I didn’t say that, but wouldn’t put it past him. that was an amazing Presidency in the face of unparalleled story plants from Day 1 to bring him down. the guy put on blinders, stayed focused and delivered to everyone in the World absent the Globalists. Peace and prosperity were everywhere and all you idiots want to talk about is Russian Collision and Stormy Daniel’s ad nauseum. gonna be even better next time. America needs Trump.

Any idea why he doesn’t take credit on the campaign trail for rolling out the covid vaccine quickly?

And yet, here we are… in a proxy war with Russia under a Democrat psychopathic administration.

And as for your geopolitical issues against Trump… I’m pretty sure he stepped into North Korea with little rocket man, and they became good friends.
Republicans have several candidates with a variety of backgrounds to choose from as their standard bearer for 2024. This is not a choice at this time between a Democrat or a Republican.
But if the polls for the Republican nomination are to be believed, Republicans want as their 2024 standard bearer - the twice impeached, one term insurrectionist, who was found liable for sexual assault and who has 78+ indictments to his name for alleged crimes committed before, during and after his one term presidency.
Whatever happened to the calls for law and order and the appeals to conservative values. Is this what conservatism is now? A personality cult built around one person. What happens when that person person exits the stage by choice or otherwise.
Truly bizarre and baffling.
There’s a nucleus in the right that wants an a-hole tyrant that will exact revenge on the left and inconvenient facts can now be labeled as lies or deemed irrelevant. The rest of the GOP could get together and tell Trump to go to hell, but they can’t win without that core.
The rest of the GOP presidential field is trying to decide how wide or narrow to target their potential voters, but all are hoping for some sort of Trump implosion where he’s suddenly viewed as an embarrassment by that core and then they can be in a position to capitalize going forward.
They know he's a stone cold loser who doesn't have enough support, but they will do anything to prevent a nasty divorce that will threaten their allegiance and political future. They think the least damaging option is to just let this play out and continue fanning the flames of hate to keep the deplorables interested. They know he can't win, but if they publicly turn on him the loss will be greater and they individually stand to lose elections to trumpers. It's themselves before the party and before the country.
nobody likes democrats, which is why we are at War with Russia and increasingly China and soon others if you are not stopped. the idea is Peace and thats what Trump delivers.
He is. Among them and everyone they deal with, online and in most social interactions, he is immensely popular.
About 50 years ago Pauline Kael, movie critic for The New Yorker, made fun of herself when she observed, "Nixon can't have won. [He took 49 of the 50 states in that 1972 election.] I don't know anybody who voted for him." Point being that, in her small circle (in those pre-Internet days) of friends and coworkers, probably every person she dealt with had voted for McGovern.
Well, we have an Internet now, so people can deal with many more individuals; but then we self-select which groups we'll deal with. A hard-core Trump fan, with hundreds or thousands of real and virtual acquaintances, may literally not know anyone who voted--or, at least, who says s/he voted--for Joseph Biden.
And this is what makes it so easy for many Trumpistas to say that JRB can't have gotten 81 million votes: "I don't know anybody who voted for him."
And the absence of Biden Boat parades confuses them too.
Those empty rallies with a few dozen chairs to hear Uncle Joe mumble sure did secure my faith in 81 million votes.
...Because you don't have a sense of the fed-up-ness that motivated people to vote against President Trump.
As someone who never--as in, never--votes on the Democratic line but lives in the heart of NYC, I had a very good chance to see how many (and how much) people just wanted President Trump gone. I didn't see much enthusiasm for Ol' Joe (actually seeing somewhat more now--some people like some of the stuff his administration has done), but a ton of eagerness, if not desperation, to get The Donald out of the White House.
And my extended family, strewn all across this country (literally Maine to Hawaii and Florida to Alaska), reported the same thing.

Yeppers! People risked their lives with the covid epidemic to stand in unnecessary voting lines because they thoroughly despised Trump. It wasn’t because they loved Biden.
None of this registers to people in the right wing bubble.
After the election and on Jan 6th we saw how much their viewpoints proved accurate. Trump proved himself to be a criminal traitor.
But don’t take my word for it. Read the indictment.
