thank you
Cheptegei may have won me some of that hemp drink from Floyds. I have a 1/2 marathon coming up in Costa Rica in a few weeks. I'll report back on it's efficacy!
All the streams ended at 10:26 but I fail to see first why they set pacing at 5:11 and 7:47 and didn't even make that, and second, why the Ethiopians decided to jog in the back of the field most of the race. Of course, they probably thought, why bother, if they had no shot at all at the world record or even low to mid 12:40s with a 3k of 7:47, but still they should have kept close to get the win. Or maybe this was their feeble protest at dropping the 5000m from the DL. Of course, it is precisely because so many 5000m races on the circuit go like this that they are dropping it. From Paris 2012 to Zurich 2018, there were no serious attempts at a fast time in the 5000m for the top guys. Where's Healing Hans when they need him?
As good as NOP is this year, hard to believe Kejelcha likely won't be on the Ethiopian team at 5,000 now.
And Chelimo well beaten. He's like a cross between the pre 2016 chelimo and the World beater the last few years.

Well, that's it for the 5000! Out with a whimper. 12:37 safe forever.
Who won!? Don’t just post the time
I figured all the people saying "Cheptegei" had that covered.
Gebrhiwet could have caught him, but mis-paced his kick. Still has a bad habit of letting up a bit on the backstretch, getting passed and then dealing with traffic. Got to stay in front and get a tight line on the last turn.

Nice entrance
Julien Wanders and Stewart Mcsweyn about 13:30. I was so excited about them before the race

They both beat Dibaba which was completely unexpected. I remember when German 1500m runner Hannah Klein beat Dibaba at the Olympics and it was worth more to her than any championship she ever won before.
Few athletes are loathed on the circuit like Dibaba. It's like an Olympic medal for anyone that takes her scalp.
How many times will the announcer say the word "scalp?"

Splits are legendary. Meanwhile Brazier was unbelievably composed. He went from one of the worst racers on the circuit to a racer with elite self-awareness. Great job by Alberto.

and Rai Benjamin will open a bakery
KoKo personally likes the 1500m the most even though many say the 3000 and 5000 and longterm marathon would be perfect for her style. That's why good results in the 1500 mean a lot to her I guess
Warholm 46.92
46.92!!!!!
WARHOLM!!!!

Yes, you were. Well, nobody's perfect, especially not Wanders.
(A small point: McSweyn was about 13:30. Wanders was not. He was at 13:45.

Nice handle, but you are better at listening.
Warholm holds off Benjamin in 46.92!!!!!~ Kevin Youngs record stands another month. Benjamin also under 47.
has there been two sub 47s in one race before?
I'm sure the snake oil being hawked by a former self admitting drug cheat will do you wonders.

no, there had only been 2 total performances under 47.00 before tonight. Kevin young in 1992 and Samba last year.
