If you forget all your NOP/Salazar prejudice and look at his performances on paper, he's just quality. 3:50i, 7:30i, 12:58, 26:44 and now 2:06. Olympic Silver in the 10k and Bronze in the Marathon 4 years later.
Guy is just a top, top athlete and all his competitors know he's a threat.
Yes. And, the thing is, he's a mathematical FLUKE. The odds of Salazar finding one kid with this potential, at the one high school he was volunteer coaching at, are astro-nomical.
And for that kid to be found by a former world class marathoner, and in the geographical halo of Nike...even more astronomical.
It's been an amazing gift to USA running.
