I'd like a hat like that for my runs.
No podium for Tokyo. Only winner awarded.
Bekele didn't make it 30k but slowed down before 20k. Totally not prepare for this.
There's a great karaoke bar at 28k from what I hear.

is birhane related to the other dibaba sisters???
Yeah its a little disappointing seeing both Bekele brothers struggling. Hopefully Kenenisa will turn it around in London. Any clue on when Tariku is racing next?
It certainly seems like Kenenisa will have much more promise at the marathon then Tariku just looking at HM success. I do understand it doesn't directly correlate with good marathon ability, but it will certainly be fun to see where Tariku goes from here.

A big step forward for Imai, who has made steady progress, with a few bumps along the way, since his 2:18 debut in 2008. Nine marathons previous, with 2:09:30 and 4 at 2:10. This performance would be #5 on JPN all-time list, and fastest for them since 2007.
That wasn't the Sally Kipyego we know here in the USA, although the announcers said that several times. It's Chepyego.

Marathons are tough.
She went out too fast. I guess you have to try different ways of running.
In LA she went out slower and moved up.
I watched the race and loved it. Here's on thing:
Were the pacers useless? Maybe they kept it going at 2:06-07 pace but it was a race.
There was a large pack and it dwindled until there was one.
They said his daughter died yesterday or recently; so I think that's why he has that facial expression. Hard to smile when you loose a child.
I think his daughter died yesterday or recently; so I think that's why he has that facial expression. If you check the other times he has won, you will see him smiling.
I agree. Very clear coverage and with NO COMMERCIALS. I only whish they had two people doing the commentary than just one.
kiprotich's daughter passed away over a month ago. Jan 2nd, to be precise.
