WAY TO GO CHRIS
WAY TO GO CHRIS
Chris Derrick finished strong as well
Valiant effort by Mo. Better than I expected with his virus.
Not sure what happened to Rupp, after his indoor results I expected he'd be at least equal to Farah but it was just a bad race. It looked bad already when he wasn't up in the lead with Farah at the bell - he was spotting them a lot of distance.
Great run for Ritz though, sets him up for a possible sub-27 after all. Anyone see where Cam finished?
But Rupp has been extremely consistent til this race so he's allowed one bad one when it doesn't really count.
What were Ritz and Derrick?

31.88 to 3 laps to go 10:06.13 for Rupp and Farah side by side. 1-2. Crowd very excited.
1038.67 for 4k for leaders.
900 to go . Rupp in 5th. 9 guys right there including Ritz.
63,85 for Rupp 800 to go. Lagt in fourth.
Rupp moves on a turn as does Ritz. Lots of moving.
Farah is in lead on rail.
3093 to 600 to go. Rupp in 6th ish.
Ritz 4th. Rupp 6th.
29.93 for Ruppwith lap to go.
29.44 for Rupp to 200 to go. Rupp in 9th.
27.92. Rupp kicks for pride and gets Derrick and Ritz. 13.08.29
53.88 for winner.
Martinez has shown that she has the pace to contend at 1500m. 1:58.18 is no small achievement for a 1500m runner.
And Jager just ran 8:08.6 at the beginning of June in an 8:03 race. He can fly in July in Europe.

13:08-09. Good for the conditions IMO.
Ritz ran a brave race. Too large a field and he's a small guy and he kept being bumped around. Don't laugh: he might medal at 10 in Moscow.
i don't think a 13:08 is a bad race for rupp, heat and traffic considered. at 3k it was obv that this was going to be a tactical race.
Derrick 13:09
Levins 13:15
both personal bests i believe

Why can't NBC put the race in a picture in picture at least during commercials? People would probably be even more likely to watch the commercials then because the race would be watchable too. I hate you NBC
They should put a small company logo near the on screen clock like they do with soccer games. If they can go commercial free for 45+ minutes, then they should be fine with 15 minutes of a 5K.
love how they had no idea who Soi was and were shocked that he won...and then they interview Farah?? but ask a bunch of questions about Rupp??? i hate NBC
rupp had the out-of-shape andrew bogut 'i'm uncomfortable and this doesn't feel good' look the whole race. just not his day.
The winner was also a small guy, other runners are simply better

A good effort by Farah, although we don't know how fit he was, so didn't really learn much from the race. It was clear that Farah and Rupp tried to bunch up the field to force a sprint finnish. It almost worked, but I think his opponents will know how to beat him now - not by running a slow race.
Ritz will be luck to qualify for worlds.
LOL, apparently no one notified the 800 pacer that Rudisha isn't running...
clearly less doping this year!!
No sub-13 or sub-27!!
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
