i'm sure my post that said "this is when i love letsrun" that triggered the deletions and not porn post.
I found my only (1999) marathon result online and because I started back in the pack my time was about 40-60 sec off. I was at 3:03. I assume Ryan would have started near the front, but results from older marathons will probably show gun and not a "chip" time.
Wha happened to the latest news on this? Hey moderator, reveal thyself!!
I'm usually against the witch hunt, but I'll make an exception for Paul Ryan.
Let's get down and dirty with this one.
Does anyone have Ryan's/Romney's Twitter that we can holla at?
We have some new information on Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan's claim in a radio interview of a sub-3:00 marathon.
A spokesman for the Romney-Ryan campaign e-mailed Runner's World today to say Ryan ran Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, while a college student in 1991.
When asked about Ryan’s finishing time, the spokesman said, "His comments on the [radio] show were the best of his recollection."
Ryan's name does not show up in the 1991 race results provided by Grandma's. Runner's World checked 11 years of results for Grandma's Marathon, from 1988 through 1998, and found a finisher in the 1990 race by the name of Paul D. Ryan, 20, of Minneapolis.
Ryan's middle name is Davis, and he was 20 in 1990. The finishing time listed was 4 hours, 1 minute and 25 seconds.
We are awaiting confirmation from the Ryan camp that the vice presidential nominee is the Paul D. Ryan listed in the race results – and, if he is, whether he ran any other marathons faster than 4:01:25.

3-4 hours, whatever it takes . . .
He has an older brother named Stan, and there is a Stanley listed about 97 seconds after him in the results.
He runs up to 10 miles a day currently and still missed his estimate by over an hour? Wow. Numbers whiz.

He never said he runs up to 10 miles a day currently. His answer implies he doesn't run more than 10 miles anymore. It doesn't say anything about 10 miles regularly. Feel free to bash him on the marathon time if 4:01 is his best, but in a similar vein don't twist what he said to bash him more.
Typical P90X A-Hole.
If this is the same Paul Ryan, it's an insult to the hard-working Rosie Ruiz and Kip Littons of the world who actually WORK for their falsified sub-3 efforts using bikes, buses, hidden numbers and fake marathons. I mean, this guy (IF it's the same Paul Ryan) just flat out lies about the time.
It's such a simple approach to the problem of being too slow to run sub-3.
I wonder if this will be his Seamus, something seemingly trivial that reveals the character of the man?
He did not say he'd run a marathon. It was plural: "I hurt a disc in my back, so I don’t run marathons anymore".
OK, I'll change it to
He runs up to 10 miles in a day currently...
He's getting "bashed" for the self-serving lie, not the time he ran.
Most runners who can do a 3 hour marathon dont just suddenly appear on the scene, run 3 hours and then never run again. If his claimed 3 hour marathon cant be found, perhaps other races are available such as a half marathon. Using predictive calculators such as the McMillan Calculator, it would be simple to extrapolate times from those races in order to see if a 3 hour marathon was within the realm of possibility, around that same time.

The Paul Ryan listed in the 1990 results shows his city as Minneapolis, MN. VP Paul Ryan was born/raised in Janesville, WI, and went to college in Ohio. Neither is close to Minneapolis.
