I just gave you real world examples of people who are "fit" by medical standards and none of them could come close to breaking 8 minutes for an all out mile. This is a small sample size, but again, these people actually exercise.
The OP's post was *general population* 30 year old males. That means grabbing guys out of a bar, fast food line or cubicle who *don't* exercise at all. How are these people going to run a mile at any speed? The answer is they can't.
Not sure how old you are but if you are over 25 it is hard to believe you don't encounter males who don't exercise and thus couldn't run a mile at any speed without stopping. We are talking *general population* here. That is going to include many people over 250 pounds.
