F1 guys are more fit but the actual machine and team does most of the work. Sport? Sure, why not.
Tony Stewart is one of the few exceptions of current top NASCAR drivers that do not appear to be in shape. The funny thing is that he holds himself out as a badass. I think Meb could take him.
Ummm... ever heard of Sammy Wanjiru?
Why is Pre listed? He wasn't anywhere near the top or even his own potential.

David Torrence
Jose Fernandez- Miami Marlins pitcher
Ken Hubbs
Chicago Cubs, 1962 Rookie of the Year and Gold Glove at Second Base.
First rookie to win Gold Glove.
Died in plane crash at age 22, taking flying lessons to overcome his fear of flying. Tried to fly in snow storm.
Drazen Petrovic. Car crash. He was in his prime and most people consider him the best European talent in basketball history although Arvydas Sabonis and now Nowitzki are in the mix.
Drazen petrovic and Salvador Sanchez were the first two to come to my mind. Already mentioned above though
One not mentioned is Ben Wilson. Best HS hoops player in the country when killed in Chicago.
