We need an update!
Update?
Since the OP seems to have disappeared, does anybody else wish to assume the mantle of leadership on the challenge?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
I am not the OP, but I ran 4 miles after a Five Guys double burg (prolly equivalent to 1.5 Big Macs) the other day and the run was fine.
I still think the proper strategy is to basically arrive at the start line starving, eat 2-3 Macs, run the 10K, then eat the remaining 3-4 in whatever time is left.
I'm a little late to the discussion, but this is an awesome bet. Back in university a buddy of mine on the CC team dared me to eat 4 big macs and drink 4 Hamm's beers in 20 min. I backed him down to 30. When he said I had 1 min. I had a big mac and a beer left. I inhaled that big mac and had 10 sec. left to chug the beer (it was poured into a glass). When I finished the beer my buddy yelled out 19 mins and 58 secs. He got what he wanted. Later that night I continued to drink and never puked. This bet is a matter of how well you can handle large amounts of food either before, during, or after running.
Or all three. Can't wait to hear about the result. If it hasn't happened yet, good luck!
So when IS this race???
I kinda want to try this. I'll have to go get a Big Mac sometime soon to see how they compare to Taco Bell's Beefy 5-Layer Burritos. I can put 6 of those down pretty easily.
if nobody else does this i'll go for it the first weekend in october. it's too hot right now.
Bump
This is only a challenge if you eat them all before the race and that its not just the sandwich but the entire big-mac meal.
Otherwise its just another sub-par accomplishment, I'd be more impressed at the guy that can get his wife to orgasm and still break 20 in the 5k.
Sorry, I haven't worked through the whole thread, but I really think people are underplaying the "six Big Macs" part of the equation.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually eaten six Big Macs in one sitting. No, not from someone who "could" do it easily; not someone who's "eaten more food than that plenty of times"--but someone who's actually eaten the stated amount of that exact food.
If you have, please give us your feedback. I would bet that it's a helluva lot harder, and more time consuming, than people seem to think.
I'm seriously considering doing this now. If I do it'd be September 25th or 26th in Cleveland. Any Cleveland area runners also want to try this?

That's why I insist on raising the bet....
Not interested in doing this, but post when/where you will attempt this and I may come watch.
Typically I run Reach the Beach every year since I graduated college. I know I can eat 3-4 big macs right after pretty easily. I also had 3 at a time once when after a league meet my buddy and I had a calorie challenge. Those 3 were part of a total 3500 calorie meal. Each big mac is ~650 calories, so six would be ~4k calories.I am 6'1" and between 175 and 185 depending on each attempt and when I tried it.I don't think the OP could do six in an hour.

So the OP said he had 2 months to prepare. It's been 2 months now and we haven't gotten an update for a while. Is the race this weekend, or what?

Not married, but I could get your wife the big O and still break 20.
OP posted 0n 6/29, and said he had 'about 2 months.' Today is 8/31. Seems like this weekend would be the limit.

I've eaten 10 big macs in one sitting, took just over an hour. I'm actually training to be a professional eater as of now. I can say that no regular person, even a distance runner can eat 6 BMs in an hour. Your stomach would give out after the fourth one. Add in a 10k and there's really no chance of doing it. Plus the water you would consume for the race would take up far too much room in your stomach. My guess is that there are some football players and sumo wrestlers that can handle six big macs in an hour, but they're not regular people. If I were to give advice on how to do it, I'd say eat a Big Mac at every mile marker during the race. Still, you wouldn't make it to the finish most likely, or you'd take a shit before the finish that would consume too much time to break an hour in the race.
