Feel bad for Rupp. He took on the pace for almost the entire way after the rabbits fell off. The other guys just used him and blew past him.

Thompson is a Brit

Sorta yes, sorta no. Rupp has sat on so many others and kicked past them so...
At any rate, major props to him for carrying the load for much of the race.
So much for POLLEN COUNTS IN PALO ALTO.
LOL.
So much for nobody in the race being in Rupp's league!
This is beyond anything we have seen.....
Its funny to think that people were making fun of Rupp. I mean, without him and his pacers, there would be no record today.
I am ordering some calf sleeves right NOW!!!
It gives bigger guys hope to run faster races! Awesome job Solisky!
Amazing!!Are you guys sure they ran all 25 laps?
Is this the GREATEST 10K debut in HISTORY?
when you think about it, this was very similar to ritz's AR last year. extremely unexpected and awesome
Solinsky = 29th Fastest Man ever at 10000m.
Awesome race! And I bet there wasn't even 700 people in the stands to witness. What's wrong with our sport?
With his win tonight, Chris Solinsky looks to have also taken down Arturo Barrios' 1989 Americas record:
NORTH,CENTRAL AMERICA&C. 27:08.23 Arturo Barrios 12/12/1962 MEX Berlin 18/08/1989

I don't feel bad for him. This is what he wanted. After all the hemming and hawing about where to run, when to run, the weather needing to be perfect, blah blah blah. This is exactly the race he wanted. Obviously, since he was willing to tuck right in on the pacers and then take the pace when they dropped, he wanted this. He wanted to be in the lead. When Solinsky took over I was screaming for him to win. Actually when he moved to third I started really cheering for Solinsky. He never whined about anything. He just showed up to race.
Now...I'm no Galen basher. The kid ran great. He's always run great. He's a huge talent and will continue to be a dominant force in American distance running. But all the theatrics leading up to the race was pretty ridiculous. Just go race!

What about Bekele's 26:25 from Oregon a couple years back?

Yeah, and did they measure the track?
The Americas record refers to the best time run by someone who is a resident of the Americas region, not a U.S. soil record or anything.
