You are a mess man. How does her age matter? She would have lost by over a minute to Hassan who, by the way, ran the triple..Valby had one race total, no qualifiers. Just accept the fact that she is not fast compared to the world's elite runners.
The only mess here, is you troll, by changing your goal posts from “that was a huge choke job”, to “she needs more speed to compete with the best”; you finally agree with us. 🙄

Its both dude. Obviously you cant comprehend that. It was a choke job AND she is slow and needs to be faster. Those are not mutually exclusive. Do you need me to explain what that means or do you think you got it, little buddy?
But what were Hassan’s 5000m and 10000m times at that age? (I did say “some” PR’s.)
Hassan was mostly a 1500 runner at that age. I believe she did not run her first 10000 until 2019 at age 26, the year she won WC in the event. But at age 21 she was one of the best in the world in the event she focused on.
But the discussion about Valby misses the bigger point for me. None of the US women were ever in contention for a medal. The real race didn't start until about a lap to go and the 2 Americans were left far in the dust. Monson would have been as well. Anyone know Chebet's last lap time?
Distance running in the US tends to attract girls in HS with big aerobic engines but no raw speed. Those with speed end up as mid-d runners. It's the reason we have never won a single medal in the 5000.
Yes and yes. The 2917 is the one anomaly look at all the world championships and all the Olympics of the last 20 years and 90% of them are tactical and significantly slower than world record pace
Anything around 30 minutes is slow for a 10K that's a minute off world record pace
Even if there are somewhat fast you still have to be able to hammer the last lap.

That is true. Tokyo was 29:55 but no one was catching Hassan. Someone like Valby has to use all her energy just to run a 31 flat so there's just no way there is anything left for a 57 close like you said...and that is with her having the luxury of only running a single race. Makes even more sense why she didn't run the 5k or they would have both been total disasters.
Wiley and tuohy. They both have speed. The last lap was 57. Tuohy will break 4 minutes in the 1500 in a couple years. Wiley already has the speed, just needs to work on her endurance
What are you so exuberant about? She was the third American, she lost by 16 seconds over two laps. I mean good for her she's a glammer girl and she'll get plenty of media, but you really think she's going to contend for a medal in the future?
Valby is unwarrantedly fetishized by mainly. LRBF. The others are at the moment better runners but perhaps the whole Valbymania deal irks them. Not nice of them but understandable considering how many years they have toiled in the snow and dark to achieve results.
If she went out front hard the rest of the field would've just let her go, concentrating on placing then absorbed her and she would've been toast from running alone. We've seen this happen with the Japlanese runners when they try this.
It is understandable if you haven’t followed her story, because you obviously have not seen her races over the past year, in which she soloed a lot of them from the front. So she is capable of running alone, unpaced, without pace lights, running to the limit of her fitness.
For example, google search “Bryan Clay Parker Valby” video as an example, when she set her PR a few months ago in her 10000m debut.
Doesn't work that way. Even if she went by 5000 in 15:00 the real contenders who can run 29:00 would haul her in over the next 3000 and she'd end up crawling in.
On the plus side, this should put an end to all the low IQ posts constantly accusing Valby of doping. I mean when the break came at the end of the race, it was incredibly easy to tell who’s on the sauce and who isn’t.
