do any of these women want to make the Olympic team?
There were 3 straight 75s in there, which isn’t too slouchy given the conditions. I’m hoping Valby takes it on soon; Sullivan, respectfully, just isn’t fast enough.
I love how for distance events they find ways to not talk about the race & then cut away multiple times for other events/commercials. Here's a thought: Maybe people are tuning in to watch the women's 10k final & you could gear commentating to that?
For sprint events, we watch long intros & celebrations. Don't get why they can't just try to make the event exciting & talk about the people in the race & the mini moves being made.
Shut down the last 20 in a final when you are not leading or even 3rd?. Was the shutting down because you realize no matter what you do, you will never even be in the top 3?
Yep she saw she was 4th and not gaining. She didn’t literally stop running but she didn’t go hard through the line and maybe finished a tenth slower than she might have had she went all-out.
So does Valby still make it in the 10k on world ranking if she finishes top 3?
Others have said that NCAA meets do not count toward world rankings. Also, Parker ran her 10ks in shoes with too-high stack height according to WA standards.

Are any of them ranked high enough? Or just the one woman with the standard?
I was trying to figure out the math as well. Only Monson and Keilati have the standard, and obviously Monson can’t go. Plus, they’re only taking 27. Izzo is in the rankings quota, then I guess Hennes, Rogers, Vestri, and D’Amato could get bumped high enough?
