Somewhat crazy Markezich thinks sub-9:10 will be required to make the team.
This is a tough call but I am going to guess Jennings, Markezich and Wayment edging out Constien.
I thought the announcers mentioned Gear had had an injury setback which disrupted her training.
Gear is such a wild card. I wouldn't be surprised if she won, also wouldn't be surprised if she finished dead last.
and I have a feeling her issues are mental, not physical. she posted a long, dreamy, self-affirmation, soul searching Instagram post the other day. very odd to post 2 days from the biggest race of her life when she should be locked in and laser focused.

I have to wonder if a healthy Coburn and Frerichs would have even made the team.
5 years ago yes, both would have made it. But even healthy I'm not sure either of them would've gone under 9:07 at this point. End of an era, but clearly the beginning of a new one for US women's steeplechasing. Wayment in particular looks poised to dominate this event in the years to come.

It could be anybody as Howard showed. There are so many sub 9:25 women at this point. That’s what depth will do.
