Ah, no. Way too many non-running threads in the running only threads thread. And guess my 10K time if I run 100 x 100m in two and a half days, is not a running thread.
1. Ban the most egregious trolls like Armstronglivs and rekrunner.
2. At minimum, restrict their posting to something reasonable like 2 - 3 posts per day and thread or 2 - 3 posts per page so they don't take over every doping thread by endlessly repeating the same nonsense and trading insults.
I've done a lot of the PED.debates with rekrunner over the years - he's not a troll nor does he intentionally personally attack anyone. Usually in many debates he eventually gets personally attacked & the whole thread gets derailed into immature, childish insults.
I think the nature of doping discussions particularly debating the efficacy of PEDs - like I've engaged with him many times - will involve many posts (studies, CAS hearings, athlete interviews, etc).
Keep in mind that doping threads are going to be one of the most hotly debated topics - especially with a high-profile athletes that are a fan favorites with a lot of people (e.g. Houlihan).
He is a troll. He turns every single doping thread into a discussion of his silly views on peds and whereabouts failures. Yes, you help him do this, and yes, your style is very similar to his and we know now he posts under other names.
He calls me a liar and a racist repeatedly. I've seen him call ArmstrongLivs names many times.
He defended Beyer and Straub's coach when I reported he had been convicted of giving a child athlete illegal drugs.
When a young Ethiopian runner died mysteriously in hospital the day after the Swedish Eritrean European xcountry junior champ was busted for EPO - both having the same Jada Aden associated Spanish manager - Rekrunner denied we could speculate on doping being the cause of the former's death.
BTW, that thread was then deleted by the moderators, perhaps the most important doping thread ever posted here.

"we know now he posts under other names." - you accusing him of doing so doesn't mean it's true.
"He calls me a liar" - you lie all the time.
"He defended Beyer and Straub's coach when I reported he had been convicted of giving a child athlete illegal drugs." - see? This is a lie.
"When a young Ethiopian runner died mysteriously in hospital the day after the Swedish Eritrean European xcountry junior champ was busted for EPO" - get your facts right.
Can you link to a thread or two where someone takes it over please?
It's funny but predictable that a few users want to see me banned.
This site encourages unrestricted discussion of doping and sharing of varied opinions, so long as it remains civil. A few posters get upset because I create ripples in what would quickly become an echo chamber of all the myths surrounding doping and doping busts, by asking for basic things like supporting facts, evidence, and observations.
Stricter enforcement of existing posting guidelines (e.g. stay civil and stay factually correct) would go a long way to reducing the volume of said doping threads.

I don't think you lie on purpose, but you do have serious comprehension and accuracy issues, and an inability to correct them once pointed out.
Here are examples of your inaccuracies in just this post alone:
"he posts under other names" -- No. This is your own imagination, and unfortunately will now persist due to your own inability to correct your mistaken thinking.
"we know now he posts under other names" -- No. This is not knowledge, and not shared by "we".
"He calls me a liar and a racist" -- Do I? On a few occasions, I tried to explain others see your posts as racist. On more occasions, I highlight the factual inaccuries with clear examples. I aspire not to call people names, but focus on their posts.
"He defended Beyer and Straub's coach" -- No I did not. I actually supported his penalty from the German courts. What happened is you said things like "potentially lethal" and "doping", and I pointed out inaccuracies that your linked article did not say "potentially lethal" and explicitly said "not doping".
"young Ethiopian ... Swedish Eritrean ..." -- Of course you can speculate anything you want. But in the spirit of pointing out inaccuracies, the last time you brought this up, you made at least seven factual errors with their age and nationalities and names. Even when corrected twice by two different posters, you still made 6 1/2 factual errors, confirming your inability to learn and correct your mistakes.
"the day after" -- You are still propogating one of the errors. The first time you reported this, it was two days.
"Jada Aden" -- who is "Jada"? Why not say Juan Pineda?
"the most important doping thread ever" -- Yeah, sure.
Lol rekrunner. That was a poor impersonation of Here's my Take. And quite tasteless considered how you personally attacked him in the last Epo nonsense of yours.
Here's an example of the type of post that unnecessarily increases the volume of threads with purely false allegations:
- I did not impersonate "Here's my take"
- I did not personally attack him in another thread
- I do not have "Epo nonsense"
I suppose I could always just let these posts go without responding, but it is nevertheless unnecessarily libelous, and happens quite frequently, apparently by those uninterested, or unable to participate, in genuine discussion. I have to question the motive, the intelligence, and/or the honesty of these types of posts.
If "try harder" didn't try so hard to invent and propogate these kinds of lies, I wouldn't have created this response, and this thread would be two posts (and counting) shorter.
The thread he refers to, "Another Kenyan busted" (link below) could be a good example of a thread that was "taken over" by unrelated EPO doping discussions, but I cannot accept the blame for responding to the provocation of others. It takes two to tango, and many seem to want to dance only with me.
Within the first two pages, it was Coevett -- the OP for that thread -- who first trolled me by name without prior provocation (and he did the same again in the Pierre-Ambrose Bosse thread), and then tried to derail his own thread three different times, making inaccurate statements about me.
It was in that thread Covett accused me (yet again) of "defending" the East German coach (Bernd Dießner), and then he wrote: "a 20 year old (sic) Eritrean (sic) athlete dropped dead the day before (sic) a 17 year old (sic) Eritrean 'Swede' was busted for EPO (sic) - both having the same dodgy Spanish manager" and later clarifying "Robert Fisk"(sic), mangling "Robel Fsiha's" name. It was so full of errors, I couldn't be sure what he was even talking about.

... and now you can start to see why some want to limit the number of posts that can be made in a day, if not an outright ban.
If I choose to respond to only the defamatory posts and false accusations, which is my right, you can see there are quickly many posts to respond to.
I think it is a cop-out to shift the burden and responsibility and blame on moderators.
If other posters would simply police themselves better, and generally adhere to the existing guidelines (i.e. avoid personal attacks, make accurate posts, stay on topic, etc.), most all of those threads would stay on topic, and be much shorter.
But if it is to be the burden of the moderators, the weeds need to be pulled out at the roots.

2. At minimum, restrict their posting to something reasonable like 2 - 3 posts per day and thread or 2 - 3 posts per page so they don't take over every doping thread by endlessly repeating the same nonsense and trading insults.
1. Do the complete reverse when people demand that you ban certain people.
people who whine and complain and try to get you to ban simply can’t make well-articulated points. They try to shut others down instead of winning.
classic example of trying to shut people down because they are afraid of what they might say
I will day it again that there are too many posts which contain personal attacks. It was stated yesterday that reporting them woukd get them deleted but it rarely happens. That is the biggest problem with this site. 90% of the posts in violation are for personal attacks but few of them get deleted and nine seem to get banned. I have been banned 3 times over the past 2 years and have been reinstated every time with a note saying that they didn't really know why I had been banned.
Why aren't some people capable of ignoring a personal attack? You're arguing with words on a screen. Healthy debate of an issue can be constructive and entertaining, but if people get nasty and "personal", who cares? Stop playing into it.

That's the main problem. People get banned and they have no idea why.
Nice of you to restore it. But might be nice to edit the thread title to be more neutral. The adjective "mercilessly" is silly and makes no sense there, and is obviously just inflammatory. (I'm not even on the pro-gun side, but I still oppose silly inflammatory stuff and all the crazy ad hominem stuff on this message board.)
Title in inflammatory. that is actually why it was probably deleted. Should people be able to discuss the shooting of the dog yes. But when there is a thread with a title like that it likely is meant to just stir it up even more than just discussing the topic so the mods are likely to delete it. standard mods can't change a title.
How do you ignore a post without reading it? I don't have ESP. Allowing for the personal attacks merely slows down a meaningful discussion. There are many personal attacks in every thread. Eliminate them and we could read the facts and opinions more quickly and with a better flow.
