Yes, I saw your post, and you are correct. I bet 98% would agree that the rules around here are quite arbitrarily followed, and that should tell you something.
Interesting how a poster can violate the rules by insulting another poster but my post got deleted which didn't violate any rules. Makes you wonder sometimes about who is doing the posting.
Actually, I reported you as a poster for being a troll, clearly looking to agitate and not have healthy discussion, but all they did was delete a meaningless post.
I have no ties to LR moderation, and really no ties to Allie other than being a mild fan (more so from her college days) that has an opinion about her ban situation.
I guess a conspiracy mindset goes hand-in-hand with your view on this Allie O situation.
The way I see it she knows she is fast but she knows her days of the Olympics on the track are never going to happen. She has a varied skill set and will do running sports less common to be successful there. She loves the sport but she is way to laid back and chill to put up with the type a wackos as a full time track runner. She sees the big picture. Love the sport and enjoy it. My opinion.
Agreed regrading Olympics/track, but then begets the question: is she too laid back and chill to mix it up with top trail/ultra distance runners? Will/would she make the jump to the level of training (and frankly YouTube videography/production) of someone like Heather Jackson? The bar is so far raised in both competition and content creation.

"Laid back and chill" and trail running?! Well that's perfect! The tough balance she may face in the MUT Running realm is this: 1. The pressure to do frequent shorter mountain races all summer (i.e. Golden Trail Series or SkyRunning Series etc.) or 2. The pressure to move up in ultramarathon distance and try to tackle over 50km in distance (i.e. UTMB series). All scenarios can be hard on the body and mind and it requires a lot of international travel generally. NNormal would probably like that of her though.
Allie O already has a great personality and her content creation gets a lot of engagement relative to her following (which is over twice that compared to Heather in youtube subs). I think Heather is great obviously (and we were hanging out in Cham a bit recently), but I also think she probably (in looking at the quality of her videos) has a dedicated media person/team filming her a lot of the time. From what I've seen with Allie she self produces a lot of videos and likely edits them herself (or at least did?).
With "content creation and quality" attributed to a personal brand there is a big difference between having a pro video person you pay (or your sponsors pay) to film you all the time and edit all your stuff for you VS you doing it on your own. Some runners even have other people posting for them on social media. Doing it on your own is much harder....trust me!
At this day and age a lot of people can afford and fly a drone, iPhone cameras work surprisingly well for filming (sometimes better for shooting pure vertical orientation, and GoPro's basically stabilize themselves. So the barrier to entry to create nice looking videos is seemingly lower. That being said, a lot of athletes aren't going to have the time or skills to edit video well themselves. There is also a certain element of self branding and market positioning that it takes with "knowing the community" and creating value with one's content.
Beyond that though, Allie O has a sense of how others platforms like Instagram work very, very well. Her engagement there with the running community is quite good relative to her following (nearly 100k people on that platform alone).
