So he deleted the tweet? Was the backlash really that bad?
What a friggin coward. He finally gets some running related attention (wasn't in his performances), his cheap shot tweet got a lot of looks, comments, etc. Wasn't that what he was looking for when he pressed the "Post" button? That single quoted retweet was most likely the most attention his sorry @ss has ever gotten.

I don't think he was being that serious. Just an eyeroll. The death of him was Des liking the tweet. It wouldn't have come up on my feed if she hadn't cause I follow her, not him. I think people are making way too big a deal out of it. They are not punching down on Kipchoge, just because he happens to look like ET.
This is funny that it blew up in Des and Reid’s faces. Now National News story that comes up on google with a search of their names.
This is funny because Reid is known as a jerk and friend of Des. But Des loves to snipe those that she is jealous of and SHE GOT FOUND OUT. The World now sees the side of Des that many of us had known. Now Des will be in clean up mode knowing how others are viewing her.
Nah, no jealousy is involved I feel. Eliud is a well known doping suspect and I'm still making a conservative statement saying that. I remembered previously saying that both Eliud and Faith Kipygegon are in the same boat a few weeks back and it hasn't changed. I indeed find the adage 'running to inspire others somewhere in the world' extremely cliche these days and lacking in sincerity and authenticity hence a statement most probably spoken of only by athletes with something to hide such as doping.
It seems like every Tom, Jane and Harry in the world these days with not 1 single exception only seem to 'run to inspire others in their community or somewhere in the world'. That's too artificially orchestrated for lacking individuality and unique-ness. Just imagine, how could a billion or so different individuals with inherently different backgrounds, stories and motivations all just mysteriously have the same publicly declared running motivation to 'inspire others in their community or somewhere in the world'? Seems more like a publicly declared same disease of dishonesty and pretentiousness affecting each and every single individual than anything sincere and authentic.
Moreover, it's been like the umpteenth time Kipchoge have given such statements since like when? 2016? 2017? There doesn't seem to be any slightest variation in space-time of Kipchoge's worldview that one might reasonably expect even as the eras have changed, societies and people have all changed in space-time and so has he aged and matured as well. So therefore it seems quite likely that Kipchoge's 'running to inspire......' statement seems more like an old trick from a book that deceives than from the heart of an honest and sincere man. Also do not be naive to the fact that modern kenyan society is reputed to be extremely low in moral ethics outside of professional running.
I disagree, I would allow the disparaging comment on Eliud Kipchoge as it keeps the sport clean. If Eliud is doped up which he likely is then you will live to regret that he wasn't disparaged much earlier!

I do wonder that those making these comments are “doped up” too, Des and Reid have always bit a bit suspicious

Yes that's totally fine for a likely doper to disparage another likely doper. It all works out just fine. They both cancel each other out while the sport walks away cleaner and happier! Just let them do their thing to each other and let nature take its course to select the best outcome of their argument. We mustn't interfere!

Let's get this straight:
Performs the same all the time - must be doping.
Talks the same all the time - must be an insincere hypocrite.

Ooops - I thought this was a serious response. But I just realized from the flat-earth thread that you're not a serious person. Never mind.
You can't just say never mind and think you can get away with it scot-free. I hold you accountable for your flat-earth accusations. What does that have to do with why Eliud Kipchoge could be doping?
I would say so on a case by case basis. You still need to take into account lots of factors but yes a guy that spews the same narrative all the time since day 1 is speaking from a guilty conscience. It's kinda like he is almost trying to justify to us corruptly that inspiring others is a valid reason to use dope. Your conscience and behavior can be governed by the things that you do not place a stress emphasis upon and so that has to mean that Eliud Kipchoge could still be avoiding the guilt of doping he has in his mind via a premeditated emphasis on 'inspiring others with his performances'. It's kinda like reverse psychology or close.....say one thing but mean the complete opposite....

But what does this have to do with Reid and Des feeling the necessity to be snarky with him? And why when called out is the tweet removed? Because they are incredibly cowardly. Now that this is an international story I hope that Lap Count and Fast Women run it in their newsletters. I hope that LETSRUN will ask Des in Chicago if she believes Kipchoge is doping. Snarky should have consequences. I bet Des will take the high road when asked because it is easier for her to hide behind a LIKE than truly being an advocate.
