I think qualifying for the state meet will be considered an outstanding accomplishment for Kilbourne
With Smith (9:05/15:13), Miller (4:18/15:32), and Hawkens (4:24/16:00), NOT qualifying for state would be a huge under-performance. Just making it there won't be a huge accomplishment, given this kind of up front talent. Finishing in the top 5 could be considered outstanding.
Agreed. Both he and Richuitti have a great chance. There are a few other Ohio boys who could surprise in the right race, but these two probably have the best shot.

Their success depends on how their 4th and 5th runners do. The “OHSAA Early Season Invitational 2023”, which will be held on August 19, will give us an idea on what Kilbourne has at 4th and 5th positions.
Coffman overrated, Jerome underrated. Switch these two and I think these are about as good as can be determined right now. Lancaster might be a little high. Though very deep, they've lost a ton from last year's squad.

Also... 9 teams from Region 3 in the top 18. Accurate or no?

Maybe whoever compiled the rankings accidentally messed up Coffman with Jerome on this chart?
It’s a little surprising that Mason got 10 first place votes but Mas Jackson and St Xavier got only 1. I think all 3 teams have a good chance to win this meet, with Mason being the slight favorite
Kilbourne has a very strong 1-2-3. Their 4 and 5 were around the 17 minute mark which is good too.
Hil Davidson: Boyd is back after not running track which helps the team. Their #3 ran a sub-16:50 after not running varsity last year which gives the team a boost. Their 4 and 5 were in the 17:20s. They are going to struggle to make state this year, but for what they have left, they did very well, and a year from now we will see great things from them

Kilbourne's top 5 go 15:25, 16:08, 16:11, 17:01, 17:01. Very impressive for mid-August, but many top teams weren't there. We'll see how it goes when Coffman, Jerome, Orange, Lancaster get in the mix in Central Oh.
