p.s. I just opened this thread and read Wejo's post. That's why I am giving reasons as to why I'm saying don't be too quick to Judge as you truly don't know. Kara's timing is suspect as well, to the unbiased anyways.
On the flip side, if he did in fact assault her, Kara needs to prove this, not just put it in a book and go on national television accusing him. Maybe she is ramping up for a major lawsuit against Alberto and Nike. I can't see why she would divulge this information without moving forward with a lawsuit, unless she can't prove the assaults and just wants to make his life a living hell.
At this point, there is no reason not to believe her. I just question the timing of exposing this and what is the end game.
How would she prove it? That's what makes sexual assault cases so hard. Often times, it's she said, he said.
In general, we live in a coutnry where you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. He was found guilty by SafeSport but some think SafeSport goes too far.
These threads as a result are impossible to moderate as victim blaming and not giving the accused their rights are in direct opposition to each other. Please try to remember you are talking about real people who very likelyi will read what you read. Please do not name call and please do not state your beliefs as fact as only two people know the facts. Try to provide explanations for any arguments you are making.
I stated my belief and asked if it’s ”possible” that he might have “perhaps” with her consent “believed” that massaging his T cream in the moist pubic region would be better absorbed, and even explained why based on publicly reported information about his creamy massages, that is plausible, but it got moderated. All quotes indicate doubt and belief and simply present a hypothesis consistent with what’s known or not known.
The fact that the allegations are covered in a published book and backed up in a televised media tour (and probably more coverage to come) tells me that there is truth here. No publisher is going to put such a volume out without very thorough vetting and fact checking. If these allegations and statements are lies, then Salazar's lawyers will have multiple lawsuits filed by this time tomorrow morning.
Probably, but you don't know that for sure, only 2 people do. I say that for a couple reasons, none that any of you will believe, but I'll say them anyways.
First, if, that's if it happened, most women would have immediately told their spouses, immediately---and some would have went right to the police. Kara didn't do that, why?
If I were Adam Goucher or Adam Smith, and someone did that to my wife (which you know she told him), I'd have gotten in my car and headed to wherever Alberto was without hesitation.
Have you ever been accused of something that you didn't do? I have and I ended up proving that it was 100% fabricated via witnesses and a polygraph. The person who made the accusation got in big trouble and fessed up when things got heated as she didn't realize the lengths I would go to for the truth. Now, her word on anything is mud.
Alberto may be innocent as Kara Goucher "may" be a vindictive person when things didn't go her way due to her running stalling out (she didn't break 2:20 or get Paula's record as she said she was going after).
Or, he may be guilty, but you truly can't convict him without reasonable doubt unless there's some kind of history or pattern. I'm not saying Kara Goucher is lying, I'm saying that she may be and she clearly likes talking to the camera and being heard. If it actually happened, then she could have REALLY helped herself by going to the police right then. Alberto would have been immediately interviewed by the police and if he were to lawyer up, well then...
The trolls will rip my post and that's fine...but they read it and like it or not, it's in their heads.

Fine, here's some facts.
One of the two parties in this was banned from sport for life for emotional abuse and sexual assault.
The other was victimized by him.
Is that clear enough for you?
Nope, only the first is true, the second is alleged.

Yes. That's right. His coaching "style" is no longer acceptable in America and none of us would let him coach our daughters.
I am also wondering what the anti-Goucher posters on here would do if they were in her shoes? Are you the kind of person who would "just shut up and take it" even if you knew you were 100% right?
She knows the real answer, so why should she not tell her side of the story? Are you only allowed to know something if you can prove it to others? I know lots of things that I can't prove (10 years after the fact).
I don't see how people can watch this video and think she is a liar.
If you were personally friends with her (assuming you have female friends) and knew some sleazy guy at your work who was accused of feeling up athletes when he gave massages, who would you believe?
What kind of person thinks she is "trying to game us" in this post race interview? She is speaking from the heart if you listen to her voice...
First step would be to make this thread for registered users only.
Done. It will cut down on the # of posts. This story came out while we were about to record the pod so I wasn't on here until page 5 had already been produced. Moving forward, you need to be registered to post.

If you were at work (in a job you loved) and your effective but weird boss touched your junk, would you "go to the police right then" or would you just say, "Whoa, dude, don't go there!" Assuming nothing else happened, most people don't just run to the cops. If it happened again, you'd likely quit and think he was a weirdo.
But if you then found out that he was becoming a Scout leader or a kids track coach or something, would you --- even if it was years later --- come back and try to tell someone? I hope you would!
That is probably exactly how it goes for lots of people who suffer in silence and then blow the whistle on creeps down the road. How do they prove what they know? Should they not say something if they can't prove it? Just let the guy take the whole Scout troop on lots of over-nighters? What would you do if you knew the guy was a problem but couldn't prove it?
"Beyond a reasonable doubt" is the standard for a criminal case. It's not the standard for a civil trial or for safesport.
It didn't need to be proven BRD unless Salazar was charged with sexual assault/ abuse and the case was put forward to a finder of fact.
this wouldn't even fly in a civil court. She never told anybody close to the time period it happened, he doesn't have a history of doing it with other people (at least not yet), and she didn't write about it anywhere during the time frame.
Exactly. If this were a criminal case, it'd be thrown out immediately. However, it's basically just title IX so he's automatically deemed guilty

A skeptical person who believes in innocence until proven guilty. I listened to her voice and it sounded like she was speaking from the mouth.
What if 10 other women came forward but only had their memories of the events as evidence? Is that enough? What about 9 women? Eight? Seven? How many is enough for people on this thread.
I don't know the number but at some point it is enough to "prove" guilt in America. It is called witness testimony. If ten other women come forward, will all these trolls apologize to Kara? I hope they would.

I think after quitting, I’d go back to the boss and then even write to him that I still love him, but yes, most people are not like me.
