It’s one thing to cast doubt on her performance based on Huntington’s history with PEDs. It’s another thing entirely to attack her, say she isn’t a victim, celebrate the fact that none of her competitors congratulated her, etc., all of which has happened in this thread.
My last comment. Yes there is a thread, but no one is allowed to discuss this aspect of the scandal candidly. I think Wiley has been poorly served by the censorship on this issue. If you think I am being malicious, you are wrong. Sometimes honesty is the best policy. All the people on here that are supposedly in her corner do not seem to care about the damage being done. It benefits her to hear what people actually think. There are consequences to the choices you make. If she can extricate herself from this and disassociate from this mess, then good for her. She still can. But if you are going to continue running at HU and being coached by the same coaches, then it is going to attract skepticism and criticism and it will be a lonely road in this sport. Bye, bye.
Tuohy fans are vicious. They try to defame every young fast female.
This is not directed at anyone in particular:
Just putting out this out there - Addy is NOW an adult - and has made mistakes (like essentially blaming the victims for flirting with Nick). But she has been manipulated and brainwashed, likely for years, going back to her adolescence. I don't think her home life was the greatest, and she essentially sees these people (the Johnsons) as family, which is just so sad and makes it worse.
I certainly don't agree with everything Addy says or does, but you and I have absolutely no idea no have that level of cognitive dissonance, Stockholm and honestly likely PTSD factoring into to a undeveloped teenage brain. She IS a victim and being from NE Indiana myself, I hope so badly she finds find a way out of this. If you read the full 60+ page police report (I don't recommend it - it's horrible), I think some of us would regret some of the harsh words being written and said here.
Postscript-If I have been overly harsh, I apologize. It is a messy situation.
Yeah, like when she had a relationship with her married coach (who’s wife then became her coach).Had the audacity to defend him and then call the women that filed the lawsuit liars. Not to mention all the doping stuff. Sooo dignified. What a hot mess.
How is it that you seem to know who is lying and who is telling the truth?
Last comment in this thread or on the website? Hopefully the latter.
Stop pretending you care about this situation beyond the PED aspect. It’s obvious you don’t. You keep falling back on this idea that she’s made her bed and now she has to lie in, completely ignoring the fact that she was abused by this family for years and is now sticking by them like victims often do. Her being an adult is hardly relevant given she needs help and doesn’t have the tools to get away from the Johnsons’ influence on her own. Your “honesty” is mean-spirited and could never be mistaken as coming from a place of concern.

Fine. Suspend the HU program and get her help, but she shouldn't be competing if she is cheating, period.
Allowing the program to continue just enables the situation. Cheating without consequences just brings more cheating.
The competitors in the NAIA deserve fairness also.

What? That was a good data driven post. Of course he was pointing out that Wiley is better. Vicious is saying somebody is cheating and needs mental help. One is about the sport and the other is off-limits and personal. They did it about Valby. They did it about Cook and Hutchins. Sport is sport. Personal attacks are off limits.
This guy interviewing her acts like he has no idea about the situation at Huntington.

This is disgusting, she was a minor.
You really want me to comment again. Ok. When someone is involved in a major doping scandal and is then celebrated on here in a thread for running an allegedly fast time as if that scandal does not exist (we are talking EPO and steroids being administered by her coaches to college athletes), you are damn right I am going to comment and yes the doping aspect of the scandal is the relevant issue in this context. In that case the proper title for this thread is "Athlete involved in HU doping scandal runs the No. 2 time." Because that is what happened.
It is absurd that she was allowed to run in this race or that HU is allowed to compete at all. Likely doping is not OK because someone allegedly had a tough family background. (Join the club). If you to place the onus of blame on the Johnsons, fine. Maybe even appropriately. Does not change the absurdity of having multiple former HU athletes accuse their coach (Wiley's coach) of doping his athletes to win, and then HU just being allowed to compete as if nothing happened and people pretending there is nothing amiss.

said a version of this before but my goodness, there has got to be a way to fairly state some of the things Addy has said about others is wrong, and that cheating is wrong, and to express concern for her well being.
Usually in cases of doping, I don't buy the "manipulation" aspect esp when they are all grown adults, but it is clear from the investigation and the news pieces that have come out that these young women were lied to and manipulated about what was legal and what was not in the L carnitine study. As I said before, one of the athletes stated with confidence she believed it was totally above board, and afterwards said that she believed caffeine was banned saying "you can't just drink coffee and go for a run that would be against the rules".
I'm rooting for Addy and we all should because someone has to. She's in a horribly dangerous situation, and we're all just bystanders watching it happen, and speculating. It's crazy that no one can intervene.

As much as I want to be excited about this performance for her, it’s hard to be. HU definitely needs to roll out some testing to put everyone at ease. If the rumors are true for her transferring out after this year that would be great. We already saw her teammate Christman transfer to Ballstate. Has Christman made any comments in the program?
