You can keep insisting this is all about 'player safety' and has 'nothing to do at all' about trans athletes.....but it's not convincing anyone.
They are the same thing, but even if it wasn't a safety issue, trannies must never be humored, because it violates the rights of everyone around them for society to indulge their delusions.
Huh? What makes you think "those safety concerns" were not "raised years ago for co-ed volleyball"?
AFAIK, concerns about the safety of females engaging in mixed-sex volleyball go back to when mixed-sex volleyball first became "a thing" in the US - which, BTW, is one of the few places in the world where mixed-sex volleyball is played. From Wikipedia:
Most competitive volleyball is played with same-sex teams (exclusively so at the elite levels, although the International Volleyball Association ran a professional co-ed league in the 1970s). Different sets of rules have been drafted to allow for mixed teams, often known as "coed" teams in the United States.
The net is at men's height for "regular coed" and women's height for "reverse coed" [in the USA]. Several adaptations are common, some of them to compensate for the men's greater reach and strength.
The FIVB rules used internationally do not support mixed play, but USA Volleyball, the national governing body for the United States, has specific rules
that permit mixed-sex play, but only under special rules and regulations devised to insure safety and fairness for female players.
That's funny....the dangers of co-ed volleyball didn't really make many waves over here on LRC until the trans players started showing up.
So the solution obviously to move the net to the men's height, right? That would solve all the safety issues right there. Would you find that acceptable? This is, after all, all about player safety.
You can keep insisting this is all about 'player safety' and has 'nothing to do at all' about trans athletes.....but it's not convincing anyone.
No, I keep insisting that this is not about "trans athletes" generally. It's solely about "trans athletes" of the male sex horning in on girls'/women's sports.
No matter how you spin it, the intrusion - oops, I mean inclusion - of males in female sports always requires female athletes to forfeit fairness and sacrifice their own safety.
Allowing males into female sports for any reason puts females at an obviously unfair competitive disadvantage. And in a sport like volleyball, it also puts female players at an unreasonable risk of life-altering injury.

Take a lesson from the post above yours.
We all know what you 'keep insisting'
We also all know its a load crap.
Otherwise there would have been posts on LRC all along about the 'dangers' of co-ed volleyball. 'Oh man....the life altering injuries of co-ed volleyball......must be stopped!!!'
Here's a test:
Would removing all the injury implications suddenly make you ok with trans athletes participating in female volleyball?
If not, then it's clearly not the real issue.
Stop pretending that the injury issue is at the root of your complaining about trans athletes.
If it was, you would't be posting things about 'trans athletes horning in on women's sports'
You're clearly just uncomfortable with the idea and injury risk has nothing to with it.

Man up and own it.
Man up? Sorry, mate, I can't do that. Coz of my sex.
There is no way to remove the injury implications of male athletes in female volleyball.
Also, the safety issue is only one of two concerns: fairness is the other. Allowing males into female sports for any reason makes the sport unfair for females as well as unsafe for us.
Co-ed volleyball is played under different rules to female volleyball. To make it fair and safe for the female players.
But choosing to play co-ed volleyball is totally different to going out for female volleyball only to find yourself facing an opposing team with a male player on it.
The HS girls in this case did not sign up for co-ed volleyball. They signed up for girls' vollleyball with the expectation that this meant female-only. The fact that the other team had a male player was a surprise sprung on these girls. These girls were put in an unfair and unsafe situation - and one of them ended up getting seriously hurt.
I have no problem with trans athletes in female sports so long as they are female (and not taking exogenous T). My objection is to males horning in on female sports (and spaces like locker rooms) no matter what the reason.

…so you want the Trans to take showers with you in the men locker room.
…so you want the Trans to take showers with you in the men locker room.
Not that there is anything wrong with it.
Huh? Why would I be in men's locker room?
I think males should use the male locker rooms, and females should use the female ones.
I am totally fine undressing and taking showers alongside anyone female in the women's or girls' locker room. I object to males using such spaces unless they are little boys accompanied by their mums or other female carers.
The athlete who delivered the spike to the face resulting in a HS girl suffering serious injury has posted a highlight reel on YouTube which features the incident.
The reel also clearly demonstrates that being biologically male confers great advantages in speed, explosiveness, the ability to jump high up in the air, and punching power.

So you are fine with undressinng and taking showers with these people. That's great. Do you know there are other women who are not fine with that? Do their opinions matter?
They'e been around for a few years now and continue to grow, then there is that cool T-shirt. Plus, we wanted an excuse to show you how cute these guys are.

There are D1 prospects who have as much power and speed as this player.
This Highlands HS team happens to be pretty mediocre (13-10 this season), but they play in a really weak conference. (6-0 in the conference.) Hiwassee Dam is an abysmal team (3-18). So I guess they are not used to this level of play, and the team is poorly coached. They also play in 1A, which is made up of smallest schools.

"Allowing males into female sports for any reason puts females at an obviously unfair competitive disadvantage. And in a sport like volleyball, it also puts female players at an unreasonable risk of life-altering injury."
You left out the "unfair competitive disadvantage" argument.
Why is that?
How can anyone argue for biological males being allowed to compete as females in women's sports? It's nuts

Since you didn't like that I said my issue is solely with " 'trans athletes' of the male sex horning in on girls'/women's sports," I will rephrase:
My issue is solely with " 'trans athletes' of the male sex muscling in on girls'/women's sports."

So what? Why make it that much more likely that a female will have to go up against an opponent as strong as (or stronger) than female D1 prospect?
For all the ‘inclusionists’, rather than insist that female should accept trans into their teams how about some good arguments as to why trans athletes can’t just play on the mens team? [credit to RunRagged for continually bringing this up but it seems to never be fully addressed]

Why doesn't this athlete play in the boys' team? There is no boys' volleyball team at Highlands High School.
Here is the chronology of what happened.
Sept. 1 Highlands and Hiwassee Dam played and a Hiwassee Dam player got injured.
Sept. 5 Highlands and Andrews (another school in Cherokee County) played, and Highlands won 3-0.
Sept. 15 Cherokee County School Board held a regular meeting, and this issue was not brought up.
Sept. 20 An email was sent to the school board members calling for an emergency meeting.
Sept. 21 An emergency meeting was held, and they voted that three county schools (Hiwassee Dam, Andrews and Murphy) would forfeit the remaining matches against Highlands, including JV matches.
So I have four questions. (1) why was this not brought up at the regular meeting, if it was indeed such an important issue?
(2) If it was out of safety concerns, why did they forfeit the JV matches? There was no trans player on the JV team.
(3) Highlands played 14 matches after the incident, including one against Andrews. Nine after the Cherokee County School board voted on forfeiture. Why weren't other schools concerned about the safety of their players?
(4) If a similar incident were caused by a cis gender athlete, would they have made the same decision? (A point raised by Murphy HS coaches.)
Instead of facing Andrews High School last Thursday for their scheduled match, the Highlands Volleyball team went to Kiwanis for ice cream and team bonding.…
Player just testified in front of the North Carolina legislature, which passed the Fairness in Women's Sports Act.
“I suffered a concussion and neck injury that to this day I’m still recovering from,” she said. Other injuries she’s still living with include impaired vision and partial paralysis on the right side of her body, she said. McNabb has also experienced anxiety and depression.
